URL quotingFollow

When I link a URL in a post, it writes the address of the URL into the quote itself.

Ok, this isn't very clear, so let's say I wanna link the film The Godfather, I click on URL, Control+V the adress, and it gives me this:

http://www.imdb.com/find?s=all&q=godfather

It's a bit annoying, since I have to delete the bit in the middle in order for it to look like this: The Godfather.

Is there a reason why it's like this? It's not forum-breaking, but it would make it easier if you left it blank, or wrote URL, like it doesn when you use the Small Text feature.
