So do I have to spend another £200 pounds on a ATI card?Follow

Ok all, I'm really stumped here.

I have tried everything and I mean everything I can possibly think of to try to correct my problem but even after hours of researching on the web and contacting Blizzard Technical Support I'm still no better off.

I have terrible FPS. Even when settings are reduced to 800x600 and LOWEST settings I am only getting 20 FPS in Shatt and 45 in Outlands. I am running a 8800GTS Nividia card. I have a new PC with 3 gigs of RAM and a dual core CPU.

I have tried EVERYTHING on the Blizzard Support page and nothing helps. According to the Technician form Blizzard my video and sound drivers are out of date - but I have the latest drivers installed.

From what I've read on the web it's seems there is a major problem with Nvidia cards and the last few patches.

I was so dissapointed when my new EVGA 8800GTS gave me such FPS when it should murder a game like WoW. I can play Doom 3 and FEAR with no problems at all. But the ONLY game I really want to play is WoW! I am even willing to fork out more money for an ATI card as it seems only Nvidia users are getting these low frame rate issues.

If anyone can help I would be really grateful.

yeah, yoru driver is out of date, but even with that you shouldn't be getting that low of a FPS. Only other time ive seen that was either on a card with problems, or on a card where someone forgot to attach the extra power leads to the card. It will still boot, it will just run slow.

What speed is your ram running at? if its 667 or lower you may be getting a little frame lag there too.
