currently i have called a GM on 2 bots...they currently are camping the Ochidos Kotes. i Can tell they are bots from the patterns and how they react when a creatures spawns. The gms currently sit around w/ their heads up their asses while the players must buy the kotes from the gil sellers. why does Enix allow this? i know why...BECAUSE THEY SUCK! wtf happened to Squaresoft? thats when they actually made cool games i am tired of GMs just siting to the side and whacking off to Galka on Taru hentai! SOMEONE MUST STOP THIS!
I agree, SE needs to start doing something, my friend says there are botters even for the Stroper Chyme (Kittylili)
I like fair competition, but this is just bullcrap, you should see how many botters there are in Windrust with a Lu Shang's rod and with the title "Mogs Master" or "New Adventurer" now you can't tell me that they're non-botters

They could have changed their title to that through the use of one of those bards.

Even more disturbing is the people that want to threaten your life and cuss you out for saying hi, and the GM never responds. Botters aren't going anywhere. They are doing a little bit here and there but they'll be here. There are ways to beat the bots and it's unfortunate we have to resort to doing extra crap to beat them, but hey, us real farmers have to do what we gotta do.
As bad as I need gi, and would LOVE Kote and Fuma Kyahan, I'm not going to let those others ruin my game. Watch yourself goobbues, I'm gonna have to kill a WHOLE LOT more of you. :-/

Okay I have surmised one thing. I have studied post after post of complaints about gil sellers and botting on every server forum. I have seen noticable proof on a japanese website that "should" have gotten most of the clans, botters, and gil sellers banned. I have called GM's on botters with no response. I have spoken with a GM on occasion and was told "Our legal team is investigating" "We require proof of them doing these actions."
The only way to aquire proof of gil selling, really, is to buy gil which is against POL rules and can get your account banned. lol, GREAT!
Sooooo, my far-fetched assumption now concludes to this:
1: Se (pol), runs the bots.
2: Sells the gil online through their various gilselling clans.
3: This is why, even with proof, they have not been banned or even any actions taken against them.
Again far-fetched but I can't come up with any other logical reason as to why these people are allowed to continue with their ways of deciet without action and/or consequence.

The sad fact, if SE DID sell gil they could fix this whole thing. Yes it would be VERY sad to see people get all these items because they think Vana money is more precious than RL money, but it would at least be sanctioned, no more botters (for NMs anyways) and no more (or at least considerably less) gil sellers. Just another off the wall thought.

Yeah, finding botters would be easy, all you gotta do is warp them in the prison, see how they react
I agree with the conspiracy theory. Having worked in the corporate world for many years now, I know the games they play.
my favorite example.
Lvl 40ish Dark.
Absorb Dex... Can't get it anywhere but from the AH.
It's a lvl what, 90? monster for the drop.
You know it's a gil sellers best friend at 400k a pop, and who the hell-o kitty is going to camp it?
They've got you both ways. They won't let you play along and camp it because they know you'll go to www.cannotlinkto and buy the gil to purchase the item.
So if you think of it... They are making a KILLING off of it.
What is it, like 70 dollars for 400K gil. You give them the 70 dollars, they give you the gil. You buy the spell, and give the gil back. They turn around and sell that gil for another 70 dollars and thus becomes an entrepeneur's dream. Same with the leaping boots.. IRL those boots are worth 140 dollars give or take.
But yet, I always see those idiot cool people out there bot fishing, or asking for parties with their VERY under leveled subs.
One of them was looking for a party this weekend with a lvl 57BLM/20 WHM. What's that??

I guess I just don't know what is going on, but what exactly are BOTs and what are they doing?

imagine a sweatshop full of computers all with FFXI and a script that causes the computer players to automatically fish over and over and over and over and over. No Human interaction required.
or if it's just you and your home PC go to bed, leave computers on, bot fishes for you, wake up, tons and tons of fishes (or caps.. but they fixed that).
The rest of us have to manually fish or farm for gil.

NM camping definetely shouldn't be your main source of income. Its extremely inconsistent and there are tons of Bots lately. There are about a thousand other ways to make gil, so you should try those since NM camping is the sucks lately.
