So, after years of waiting, it would seem that the book is finally almost released. Or so it would seem anyway.
Amazon UK gives a release date of April 9th, although I also found October on Amazon USA. A bit odd, also quite disheartening really.
After all, this is only part 5 and given that it has a delay of about 2 years now, this does not bode well for parts 6 and 7.
Many fans (as can be seen at Amazon reviews of this book, odd of Amazon to allow reviews of a book that hasn't been published yet) are quite disillusioned with Martin, they claim he seemingly has lost interest in this series and focuses on his blogs and the series Wild Cards.
I truly hope he hasn't given up on it, even if I didn't really like the fourth book, this tale is so interesting and compelling, that I just have to know how it continues and more importantly, how it ends.
Although Martin himself is still fairly young, 60 years isn't that old these days, he wouldn't be the first writer to die young and leaving series open. Robert Jordan comes to mind first and foremost, but Zelazney is also an example.
