The end of episode 16: did that really just happen? Because damnit, I'm crying again.
And many more episodes after that which have made me cry or at the very least have brought me to the edge of crying. This anime is beautiful, 25/10, would watch again, and again, and again.

Moar edit: Watched the movie, too. I probably won't watch that again.
:3 I take it you finished everything? Episode 16 and onwards, is just pure baww. Incredible quality.
Yep, all of the anime episodes and the OVA's. While I don't necessarily care about the OVA's and the scenario's themselves, it was a good addition nonetheless. The episodes itself however, amazing. The pacing was perfect, the characters were incredibly well-thought out and the story was very engaging. I'm actually grateful about being introduced to this series. I'm usually more into action-oriented series, so this was very refreshing.
Everything was carried out perfectly imo, the only thing I could have wished for was too see his other paths with the other people I liked. And the OVAs took care of that wonderfully.
My friend has said that Key has never failed him, and from what I've seen so far I'm going to hold them up to that standard. They've done Air, Kanon, Clannad, and Angel Beats. Of those 4 I've now watched Clannad and Angel Beats. Both were superb; I'm looking forward to watching Air and Kanon in the future.
Hm, either here or a different thread. (I suggest a Key/Visual Works animation one at this rate)
Just started Air. It's cute, much like Clannad started. I'll probably watch up to Episode. 5 before I head to bed tonight. Would recommend giving it a shot if you have the time. (Deja vu...)
Edit: The story seems to be somewhat highly paced. At the end of episode 4. I don't find myself caring much for the characters, but it's subject to change. It's amusing and interesting though, do give it a shot. Off to bed now.
Just finished the first half of Clannad... and it still reminds me heavily of Kanon (even the music seems pretty much the same), but in a very good way. I definitely teared up at that last episode (Ibuki-sensei's wedding and what I assume was *********** last episode).
Kanon and Clannad were both Key thingies, so you should see familiarities. And oh boy, if you teared up there.. you're going to drown when you get to the after story episode I've been talking about the entire thread.

I've been thinking about it the past few days, and it hit me that one of the only times I've gotten emotional was FMA, years ago and Angel Beats (recently.) Thinking back, watching Clannad's actually been one of the best thing's I've done in a while.
As for Kanon, I've read into it a slight, I take it it's best to watch the recent series? Read there was an older one which only had 13. episodes.

Correct. The later series is the same story, but includes more stuff from the manga for 24 episodes instead of just 13.
Finished the 1st season and the 2 extra episodes... I really liked the episode where he's with Tomoyo. I liked her a lot in the series and even though it was obvious he would be with Nagisa I really wanted Tomoyo to have a chance with him.
Watched the 1st episode of After Story last night, looking forward to getting more into it.
edit: episode 6 and I've already had to fight back tears. :(
****, I finished AS while driving to TX yesterday, and I can only hope my gf didn't notice the tears that almost gushed out of my eyes at several points... that was the most emotional anime I've ever seen.
And while the ending was a happy one... it took me a little while to really accept it. At first I was kind of angry, because I had just gone through that heartbreak only to have everything undone. But now I've come to terms with it, and am glad that they did it like that, especially since it had been built up since the first season.

And that's saying something, with the amount of series you've seen, heh. One of my friends has watched the first season, but never got around to watching After Story. One of these days, when he's drunk, I'll get him to start watching it.

And now, for all you who have finished, go watch Ef! (See mah other thread for details.) :3
After watching something like Clannad, you don't just go watch another show that:

On the emotional level, both are definitely a roller coaster. I personally felt the peaks were almost as high as the peaks in Clannad After Story. On average though, there's a lot more emotion contained in Ef.
Not right away. You need some recovery time, with some other anime tucked in between. Hell, after watching Fruits Basket, I had to watch through Berserk just to feel normal again.
Well, I did watch a bunch of things in between. But I guess the free time a jobless bum like me has well exceeds that ov everyone else. Just make Ef you're next roller coaster animu. :3
Already seen Ef - A Tale of Memories. Have not seen Ef - A Tale of Melodies yet though.
Whaaa, watch it nao. They're very closely connected. Melodies starts and finishes it's own stories- and finishes up all the unclosed things from memories.
