I saw it opening night. The movie was better than I had expected, but that is possibly do to the horrible advertising exemplified in the second trailer. While usually one expects to have the best jokes in a film ruined in a trailer, the second trailer seems to include many of the worst in the entire film.

I saw it last night. Definitely better than I expected. From the trailers, I'd expected a series of potty humor jokes and sight gags, but I got a story with some real heart.
I really liked the characters. I'd expected the main character to be a bumbling oaf, finally triumphing when he finds his place in the world (or some such thing). Instead, I saw a truly competent villain (anti-hero?), who found a new motivation for his life. The minions were appropriately goofy without being out-and-out stupid. I also appreciated how they avoided turning any of the children into whiny brats (which they easily could have). In the scene where the minions, told to bring the little girl a replacement toy, gave her a toy made from a toilet brush and an ice-cream cone, she could have thrown a tantrum. Instead, she accepted it with endearingly wide-eyed joy.
Blah, blah, blah... No one really wants to read a character analysis from a kids' movie. Suffice it to say, I loved it. Two thumbs up. :)
Just saw it a few minutes ago, it was pretty good. The best part for me was the squid-grappling hook. It was so absurd it was the only part of the movie that actually made me LOL.

Saw it yesterday (yes, I'm behind the curve). I liked it in that I wasn't checking my watch and wanted to see how it ended. But I don't think I got more than a few mild chuckles from it.
