I wonder if maybe just everyone who really really wants Sniper rings has them now? 35 up for sale is a big number. As for Gotopin, I seriously doubt this is some act of altruism. Probably he was just hoping for Snipers +1 and didn't have any luck, but I could be wrong. If you look at the history on Sniper+1, the've risen to absolutely obscene prices. Last I checked about 4million a ring.
This is something I've been thinking about for a little while. Sniper rings in the economy will almost never get destroyed, and I think the way the gilfarmers hunt chymes actually puts more new archers in circulation that normally. Instead of one person hunting chymes with a small chance of getting the drop, there are 4-5 gilsellers in a party, at least one or two of whom have Treasure Hunter 2. More people = more chances for the item to drop + TH2 = more rings.
If everyone who MUST HAVE SNIPER RINGS NO MATTER WHAT!!! has bought their rings for 900k, then the price must drop. It's unfortunate to see that Archers are still selling so high (in other words the gilsellser have not dropped THEIR prices) but if Snipers continue to fall and stack up at the AH, then the crafters will quit buying the archers, and it will all come crumbling down. Yay!
On the other hand, everything I described could be 100% wrong. This could not be happening and Sniper rings might well climb to 1,000,000+ in a week. Regardless of whether I'm right about the Snipers or not, I don't think the HNM items like Scorpion harness and Vermillion cloak will drop anytime soon. The drop rate hasn't been increased like rings and they're also expensive enough that most people are still a long long way from having them.
Just my 2gil on these theories here.
EDIT: /em slaps Raveneo because he both deserves and enjoys it.
