A check on the MPK systemFollow

Alright I've tested out a few things that I thought would be problematic, and it doesn't seem to be.

What happens now is that whenever a player zones, the mob basically zones with them. The mob vanishes, and respawns approx 40 seconds later.

For abilities like Hide or Release, the mob does NOT despawn.

Therefore, MPK is still very possible, but mass MPK is not. (After testing it out on a friend, a goblin that I used Hide on immediately attacked him and one hit him on a level 1 job. As soon as it did, he despawned).

The posts on that link truly summarize my angst against SE and their retarded updates.

Examples:

Quote:
Watch the video... Its like SE did not see this coming... WTF are they truely retarted? They think up a idea without fully thinking it though..

Quote:
think this might make me quit.. BST was my savior job since I could just do whatever and not worry about PTs and stupid ****. GG SE... Thanks for ruining my last remainder of fun.

I might stick around for a little longer to see if SE remedies this situation. It would behoove(sp?) to do so, seeing as how many people in the FFXI community, including myself, are in a uproar.

SE has always made the big mistake of never surgically handling in-game problems, and instead use a blanket-solution that causes just as many problems as they solve.

Honestly, I think it's highly doubtful SE will go back on anything. Seeing as how they tossed BST players with the ******** cookies of non-jug pet penalties, and regen effects from pet food. Both of which, suck.

I'm sorry, but the prospect of becoming just another melee LFG, doesn't thrill me at all. SE can shove their updates up their ***.

a few gil sellers tried MPKing my pt in kuftal. Pulled a ladon on my pts camp. then escaped out. there whm died.

woot.

then the mob went poof.

that made me very happy. they tried again 10 mins later with another ladon.

forbidden zone of gods LS can suck my left nut. the right one is for rent.

To be honest it is sad that this fix for some, hurts others I recall so many many times trains kept me sitting waiting for the mobs to move so slowly back to the spawn area that I could just scream. Haunts anyone? Last night like 10-15 mobs got dropped on us and not one death they all went proof.

We pulled got a link the people with hate zoned the link went poof and we kept the mob we had targeted. That was sweet in my eye's. I see the BST {Leave} is just a change in play style it may cost a bit more and get people to use jugs and pet food maybe even change Xp areas but a bst can still do it. I know people hate change but the job isn't dead just need to tweak the strategy a bit imho.

Another "change in strategy", kinda like what they did for RNG. But it's getting to the point that ppl are gonna get scared to put time into a job just so SE can ***** it up. I hope that they fix this problem, because ppl who solo sure as hell don't want to have to get a PT. This game needs more soloing possibilities.

This "change in strategy" that SE keeps pulling is ********* Takes them this long to try to figure out how to "fix" MPKing, and they ***** over not only a soloing job, but PTs because pullers have to babysit mobs or do short pulls so the mobs don't despawn. I'm tired of ppl saying "get used to it, it just takes more skill." This is a damn game. Playing Super Mario Bros. takes more skill than this crap. It's not rocket science. Yes, challenge is good, but don't ***** up what works well. Next thing you know they will make MP slowly go down and mages will have to be "more skillful" when it comes to conserving MP. ********* SE is worse than Windows. Can't fix **** for breaking it. Maybe they will actually TEST these things before they impliment it into the game. It's like every patch they do, they f##k something up. Goodluck BSTs. Maybe SE will fix this within the decade lol.

Changes will happen some will love them some will hate them you can't please everyone. Some times in trying to please everyone you please no one. Yep for me just a 30 bst it will change how I play especially if you lose your pet on failed recharms out of the wandering area.

The expansion is really going to change a lot and one of its key pts is Solo play from what I have read.

All I can say is this is going to mess up my farming a bit. Its fairly common for me to grab one of the higher mobs in the area that is EM to farm lower mobs that are TW/EP.

Someone messed up I think somewhere along the lines. Maybe it was a developers idea that was flawed, maybe it was something the programmers did by accident and it got through the testing team. Don't know

I would love for them to fix it though. I like that they want to fix the MPK problem but changing a way a job works this badly to do it isn't the way to go.

so if you release the mob does it despawn IMMEDIATELY? or could you release it to get the xp and recharm again? because if you could i see no reason why you couldnt release >> gain xp >> charm >> reward >> continue fighting

Ayazz, it despawns in like 3-5 seconds and takes a while to respawn...and the kicker is if you charm a DC, pull it out of it's "zone" (which BTW is like half a grid, which really limits the area you can EXP in) it could respawn EM or T. And the reward thing is a joke, it gets 350-400 in HP and has a very small regen effect. May help at lower levels, but +50 it is not gonna help. Personally, I have thought the jug pet EXP cut should never have been there, that was just a small bone to try and pacify the BST out there. The reason for Leave was to let the pet regen naturally and recharm. In the current state, it despawns in the same time it would go from passive after leave to aggresive, so it gets no regen whatsoever.

The thing that kills me is SE did a blanket overhaul on the deal instead of weeding out the small portion of individuals that were the problem. Truly, how many BST have really MPK you? Not a misunderstanding, but really and truly MPKed? I think the answer will be very few, if at all. Expecially on Shiva, were the majority are in LoTB and we preach a strict no MPK policy. Instead of sticking a GM when Serket spawns, or one in Kuftal, the did this major overhaul, completely obliterating a job's tactics.

Dude.. they broke bst, ask how many can actually even solo now? And you CANNOT solo with jugs. They broke the game, so im breaking my CC.

Peace outpost everyone.

Thanks SE!! Good enough reason to quit.
BST69 <- was the last, they finished me sooner. Hope yall are happy.

I'm pretty much done too.

I hate SE, and I can't stand the majority of the playerbase anymore, and the SE **** suckers in the main forum. Peace out!
