i doubt it. SE seemed to stress that the bannings were in connection with POS/flee hacks. not botclaiming. although i would love to see how many RMT are missing. but i cant log on right now =(

While I pray this will make a difference, I highly doubt it will do anything. As long as people want to get things the easy way, some little pimple faced, live in mom's basment, never been laid hacker will figure out a way to exploit it and rub one out at the ubernezz, the cheating will never stop. Every time SE does something like this, "they" make a bot that is like the Million Dollar Man, bigger, faster, stronger....

I don't agree with botting in anyway-- just like i don't agree with the buying of accounts or gil. You know when you take a game too seriously when you buy gil for it, or buy another account.
Most HNM LS' bot, some do not, but most do. And it's sad how you go so far to monopolise NM's, and even critisize japanese players of botting also when you have no valid proof- that's just a general excuse people seem to make when questioned intensly about it. Then again you could say the same about noone having proof about anyone botting, however.. So it's a lose-lose situation either way. Can't proove it really 100%..
If anything, it's a flaw in the game that resulted all of this. HNM shouldn't be on such long timers if they are so overcamped, or they should be avaliable by other means (I had alot of KS.. make them KS avaliable! Make KS99 Fafnir thing drop Koenig and Ada ABJ or ridill!). Complaining about bots to the people who use them doesn't solve the problem-- it just agitates the situation. Complaining to SE might if enough people complain. Who makes these bots anyway?? I bet half you people who use them don't know to make one without using some kinda already built tool.
How many of us use windowers? I assume quite a number. We all 'cheat' in our own way, using a windower is somewhat cheating in a sense that it allows you to look up stuff online while you're on FFXI (assuming you don't have a second computer), as well as the added fact the windower now has built in 'plug-ins' so you can see party member's tp lol. Also then there are other things, like.. swapping .dat files, and generally other .dat mods (such as replaceing names of NM placeholders? I'm not entirely sure,haven't looked into it).
Also then comes the whole TS thing, using TS while playing = easier way to communicate. In a sense, that also is cheating.
In result..
Zenmetsu has a bad image, and should just suck up whatever abuse they get and get on with whatever they want to do in the game, instead of accusing other LS. It's assumed now that you guys bot, soyeah. Kinda pointless pointing fingers now, isn't it?

There's been so many debates as to whether or not the use of windower programs are considered "cheats".
If you think about it, windower doesn't really affect anything in-game at all. All it does is provide a more user-friendly interface for the player. There's other online games that allow their games to be windowed. If you ask me, SE is just being **** in that regard.
Also, swapping files doesn't really affect anything either. All that does is change the looks of objects and characters in-game. The only person that can see the changes is the player that changed them, since the change was made on their PC only.
EDIT: I just found out about the .dat file cheat with that treasure chest mini-game. Sounds like an easy fix if you ask me. All SE has to do is something like they did for the darter files in Fafnir's lair.

I think the point in the whole zenmetsu argument got pushed to the wayside during the flaming here.

The fact is other botters have scraped up enough decency off the ground somewhere to at least stay quiet about it. Blatantly shouting everywhere that you bot just makes matters worse.
I have no doubt one of omfg's lackeys, or the munchkin itself will spout something to the effect of "at least we admit it," but how about leaving me with my delusions, huh? I'd like to at least pretend I'll be rewarded for staring at a screen for three hours of my life.

hm dunno if thats completely true. as a ps2 player, one that gets easily restless at camps, sometimes i'll press down on my arrow pad or w/e its called and start spamming thru all the heads in DA or wherever which makes my char's head snap around all fast. it makes that little noise whenever you target someone, and i basically do it just to annoy the crap out of my boyfriend :D
