My husband and I have recently came back to FFXI after taking a long break. While running around, we noticed a player we both knew, but he had talked to her more than I had. Her name was Watcher, and the bazaar comment on her character says she had passed away in May(I believe) of this year. Not to be nosey, but does anyone know what happened to her? She was a great player and it was shocking to come back to that news. Her RL name was Sharon, and any information would be appreciated. Thanks.
I didn't bother asking her character. It was worded as: Sharon passed away 5/06, and went on to thank the people who had made her time on the game a good thing for her. We both figured she had in fact,passed away and someone in her family or one of her friends left her character on the game to let everyone know and to let it be a "memorial"in a way. Thanks for the info Siviard, my husband in is LotB with you but didn't quite know how to ask about her.

Sounds a bit confusing, you saw Watcher but her bazaar said she had passed away but didn't ask as to what the comment meant?
Depending how its worded it could just mention the day the person quit and left the game and someone else(family or friend or worst case scenario sold account) now plays the character. Oddly enough that name sounds familiar also.

Watcher is a part of LotB, I will keep an eye out and see what is what. I really hope this is not true, guess only time will tell.
Yes it's true. One day Watcher (it turned out to be her aunt) came into LoTB LS to let everyone in the shell know that the real Watcher had passed away of cancer back in May. We hadn't seen Watcher in a very long time, then all of a sudden she shows up in LS and gives us that news. It was sad.

That is very sad. I will say a prayer for her.
That is so messed up, I knew her for a long time, I was wondering wth happen, I thought she quit. She's playing ffxi in heaven, so all is good.
