Just thought I'd introduce myself to the Shiva community.
I'm returning from a long hiatus from FFXI.. if you call 6 months long.
After leaving the game for a while to focus on my family and my studies, I heard the siren call of FFXI once again.
Yes, it is like crack. And yes, I did get everything taken care of first.
I'd previously played on the Sylph server since the '03 Xmas season after NA PC release,
as a hume by the name of Duelm, with my highest being 53 SMN.
I decided to move to Shiva mainly because all the friends I had on Sylph left for WoW, and I know a couple of people IRL on Shiva.
From what they tell me Shiva is a pretty good server to play on, prices aren't as high as Sylph's.
*mutters about RMT,etc.*
I'm already pretty excited about the changes to FFXI since I left, such as Chocobo racing, Chocobo Hot and Cold,
not to mention the changes they added to signet.
I look forward to meeting you all in-game.

I've been levelling as I can, and I've met a few helpful players already.
I'd like to give a shot out to Draxel for coming to my rescue in the inner horutoto ruins... nothing like a good WAR to mop the floor with all of those Gobbies... especially trains >.<
I'd also like to say thank you to TheBanish LS for letting me join their ranks, especially Lahnage and Arnija.
I do have one question.
Playing for the first time as a taru, I decided to lvl BLM first to 18, and am thinking of either WHM to 37 (for sub and Tele-whoring) or lvling RDM first.
Based on what you guys have seen (as I've had some experience with both jobs) which of the two is in more demand on Shiva for a main job to level after subjob?

Well, I'm not sure how exactly merit, ect is for BLM, heard it can suck hard, but not sure.. RDM is loved both in parties and in many endgame aspects, but BLM is also loved in end game.. So it go more towards which you would enjoy more.
