Making an AppearanceFollow

Hello Shiva!

I'm a returning player who has been to 75, experienced most endgame, ect and so forth on another server. After a while in the endgame scene, the game was no longer fun for me. Everyone was dependant on me being on at times that were more often than not (75RDM) inconvenient for me with college. In an attempt to put the fun back into the game, I withdrew myself from my endgame linkshells (Dynamis, Sky, Salvage, ect). Needless to say, this didn't please my in-game "friends".

Some of them refused to let me live it down, saying I was being selfish. I found this incredible that I could be labeled selfish for wanting to put fun back into the game I had spent so much time on, instead of it feeling like a job. I couldn't level another job, whether it be solo/party without getting a /tell asking for help, from people I didn't even know, to solo something big for them (avatars, NMs, ect) as RDM/NIN (my "friends" recommended me to these people, in which flattered me, but soon became very annoying, having people wait for you to sign on, and get a /tell not more than 5 minutes later for help).

I eventually found myself lacking the time to do anything for myself, and the fun I thought I would find sank further and further into the abyss. Finally, after about a year and a half of playtime, I bid farewell to the few real friends I had made, tossed gear I had "worked" hard for to assure I would never return, and signed off for the final time.

Fast forward, and here I am. A fresh start on what seems like (by the forums) a friendly server. I intend to play for my own enjoyment (not as in ZOMG I CAN BE SMN/SAM AND HAVE FUN AND MAKE YOUR EXP SUXXORS!) and hopefully make some real true blue friends along the way. I enjoy soloing, but do like to mix it up with partying here and there (with the hefty amount of time I devote to my college degree, I usually resort to soloing anyway).

Anyway, all that extensive wording above was to introduce myself to you all, even if it was quite long-winded. I hope to see some of you in game as time progresses. I have already created my character (Mithra named Shadowflare from Windy) and will likely start in the next few days. If you took the time to read all of this, thank you, and Happy Adventuring! :)

You're more than welcome to join FableUnity as well. I guess you could call it a place where people go for a fresh start--without having to leave home to get it. Here, the past means little and our only limit is our will to succeed.
