At your level, I had the same professions on my first character and made money via selling Blindweed and Fadeleaf I got in the Swamp of Sorrows for my mount. I don't know if it works anymore since BC but I know Fadeleaf probably still has some demand because Rogues need it for Blind. Anyway, keep the professions, but focus on selling your herbs for the time being.
I like Alchemy, from a caster's point of view, I liked having Alchemy to make my own mana potions and other needed potions for raids. When it comes to PvP though, it really isn't that useful especially with the Arena not allowing consumables. If you want to focus mostly on raids and PvE functions, Alchemy will serve you and your guild well especially when you have all of the flasks and elixirs they need. Plus, you can make some decent money about level 47-49 by collecting Ghost Mushrooms and making Elixir of Shadow Power that Locks need for their epic mount.
