Jumpgate Evolution Media #1

It's been a while since we've brought you a new Jumpgate Evolution feature. Fortunately, December is a time of giving and the folks at Codemasters have decided to send Allakhazam four exclusive screenshots to share with our community, each and every week in December. The Jumpgate universe is huge so even though these new screenshots show a great deal of new content; Codemasters is only letting us scratch the surface.  If you missed our interview with the team back in October; please be sure to give it a read.

One of the features that Jumpgate promises is 'epic, real-time, large scale battles with thousands of people at a time '. These screenshots certainly get me excited about that!

Check out all four exclusive screenshots at the following link.

All links reference the Jumpgate Evolution Wiki at Wikia, the only officially recognized Wiki on the internet at this time. All information in the Wiki has been verified by NetDevil and most is sourced to articles and interviews

The first screenshot is a Capital ship in Solrain's Mechinar sector. Technically, it's a Mobile Battleship. You can learn more about cap-ships here.

The second image looks like a Factory in the Mechinar sector. You can learn more about production and the Licensing system (that replaces fixed classes) in JGE from the linked names.

The third image is an Octavian Fighter. The fourth image is Quantar, however, not enough of the Quantar is known at this time to identify the class.

In simple MMO terms you could frame The Octavian Empire, The Solrain Commonwealth, and The Quantar Paths as follows (Quoted from Sam of The Black Hand):

* Quantar: Fast, nimble, crappy at slugfests = Elves
* Solrain: Traders, jack-of-all-trades, average at everything = Human
* Oct: War-crazy, big guns, great at bashing heads = Orc

While your faction choice may have some impact on your style of gaming, JGE will never pigeon hole you into one role. To move from mining to combat to commerce requires only the appropriate spacecraft, available through an open licensing system.
