Axebeck Encounter
# Mar 21 2012 at 7:14 AM Rating: Decent
Axebeck can spawn either north or south of Ghostfeather. He has a small Agro area and does not see invisible. Runs slightly faster than the reg. Giffons, is not snare-able or root-able and summons.

I just finished killing Axebeak, and got a mask for my alt war! Hooray!

Location: Axebeak spawned at loc -1300, 570, 78. PH is a nesting Griffon. This spot is directly below Ghostfeather to the West of him.

Buff Status: Buffed I had 15.7khp 2700ac w/ 21% Shielding and full defensive AA. Only Tenacity and ranger self buffs.

Fight Info: I kept Rallied Aegis of Vie rnk 2 on during the fight and the worst he hit me for was 1375. Pretty friggin easy fight really. He has a little more hp than the nesting griffons. I popped Weaponshield and I didn't even need to. Once Earthcaller proc'd it was cake. Sacred Elixir from my bot cleric handled all the healing I required.
There are no adds during the fight. That goes for any of the griffons due to their nests. They block line of sight to each other so pulls are single without pacification/harmony. I would only suggest getting a DMF or SoE to travel to the nest locations to make it easier on you. Also, so you don't get launched off the mountain when the nesting griffons use their Dash Against The Rocks spell. Its a grav flux and a feign death. Make sure you stand back up, heh =P

Quick Question
# Dec 31 2006 at 8:49 AM Rating: Decent
Thinking about taking this guy out, think a 75 Warrior and a 65 Ranger can take it? Or should I get a cleric to come too?

And is he hard to get to, like do you have to kill a bunch of mobs to get to this guy and does this guy have adds around em?

Thanks

aye on better bring the cleric - i was able to tank him (75 druid) using vie/direwoodguard and chanter slow -- so tank should have NP

PH are nesting griffs -- there 2 of em kinda handy but will need be able to split or mez as they close together

he seems to be an uncommon spawn - been after mask for ranger friend - keep getting ring -- on the bright side - griffs are good xp aa while waiting for PH respawn

I have no problem pulling the nesting griffons without using any harmony, they are either too far apart or too witless to assist.
I just stand on top of one and hit Jolt then run back to the group, never an add.

The Griffs that surround Axe's spawn point have a FD spell they cast. Not sure if it's an AE or not.

It's single target.
It has a knockback component, and fd.
Although, the spell listed on them says 1k dd, I don't remember taking damage from it other than fall damage. But the knockback was annoying.

My wife and i have boxed this guy a few times. He can be partially slowed, after which he is easy doable with a normal group, probably doable with 3 chars. If i remember correctly he hit for max around 1,6k, deals out a fair amount of damage but nothing bad. He enrages when low on hps, of which he doesnt have too many of.

That's gotta be the ugliest mob I've ever seen... especially for a 2006 game.

For some reason, I posted a repy but it doesnt show up..

When you zone in from sunderock, run straight ahead and turn left when you will be able to. You will some griffons around and an xp camp is located close to the tree, close to the wall. This named pop on top of the cliff by the griffon nest. There is a total of 3 mobs on top of that hill with 2 possible named. This named is one of them
What is this guys location?
