General Information

    • Appears in a battlefield area after individuals that are on or have completed that mission touch the Reinforced Gateway at (F-9) in La Vaule (S)

  • Players will have thirty minutes to defeat Galarhigg before being removed from the battlefield.

  • Will occasionally change his elemental affinity, to where any magic damage of the element he's based on at that time will heal him rather than deal damage to him.

    • Will change his affinity in conjunction with using the characteristic mob two-hour animation. The element he has changed his affinity to is denoted by the breath attack he uses following it (I.E. Absorbs Fire based magic damage following Flame Breath, etc)

  • Immune to Bind, Gravity, and Sleep. Susceptible to Slow, Paralysis, and Stun.

  • Has a Draw-in effect.

Galarhigg's Special Attacks

  • Flame Breath - Frontal cone AoE Fire based magic damage.

  • Wind Breath - Frontal cone AoE Wind based magic damage.

  • Poison Breath - Frontal cone AoE Water based magic damage with an additional Poison effect.

  • Lodesong - AoE Gravity effect (Circle of effect originates from mob).

  • Thornsong - Self target Damage Spikes effect (Effect can be dispelled).

  • Voidsong - AoE full Dispel effect (Circle of effect originates from mob).

    • Voidsong is capable of removing effects that aren't normally removable by a Dispel effect, such as food. Reraise cannot be dispelled.

  • Chaos Blade - Frontal cone AoE damage with an additional Curse effect.

  • Petro Eyes - Frontal cone AoE Gaze petrification effect.

  • Body Slam - Massive AoE physical damage (Circle of effect originates from mob).

  • Heavy Stomp - AoE physical damage with an additional Paralysis effect (Circle of effect originates from mob).

BST solo? Maybe if you're lucky.

So I tried to solo this as BST/NIN because many have said they've beaten it as such. I send Carrie after the dragon and get drawn in. np, so I just head towards the dragon's rear and get drawn in again. Within 45 seconds after that it pops petro-eyes three times paralyzing Carrie. Meaning no damage is being done to it. Sure I have Snarl but that only goes so far. So I have my shadows, figured I'll be alright, but here comes Voidsong. Hit Snarl and put shadows up again after moving to the rear of the dragon, and get hit with draw-in and another Voidsong. Shadows again, hit with another Voidsong. Rinse and repeat this for another five minutes and I'm dead. Either I'm just very unlucky or I call BS on those claiming EASY solo as BST/NIN. Between petro-eyes paralyzing your pet and the draw-in spam I don't see BST/NIN solo happening.

Tried soloing this as 70RDM/PLD. Was going decently well (got it to 70%) and things were going smoothly until Lodesong was used, and made every single one of my buffs disappear. A rdm without it's buffs is much like bringing a knife to a gunfight.

It hits decently high, well in between 80-150, crits hit for 200-250. Blocked hits however sent it way down to the 40's, so I did love having a high shield skill. Weapon skills didn't hit very high... I'd say 200's, and not higher than that. Sentinel did an excellent job at deducting damage as well.

Everything fell apart when all my buffs wore, because I needed those buffs to Chainspell+Convert, and Ice Spikes were my way of getting paralyze to stick.

I'll try this again whenever I feel like beating Maat and getting 75, but I'm pretty positive a 75RDM/NIN would be able to solo this easily. I'm too in love with /PLD to not give it a try though.
Annoying

Went in with myself, 75Rdm/37Whm, my mother, 73Blm/36Rdm, and my wife, 70Mnk/35Sam. My wife went in with Hundred Fists, I debuffed, and my mom, well, who knows. My debuffs all stuck, no problems there. Never petrified us, though it tried to petrify me twice. It has a move, think it was Lodesong, that removed all of our buffs. Very irritating. I hurried to get most of our buffs back up, but it soon did it again. After our buffs were wiped the second time, my wife died, leaving me to tank. Not a desirable position for me, so I used Chainspell and focused on keeping myself alive while my mom... um... I wish I could say she used heavy nukes, but I think I saw her use Water II at one point, lol. As it came close to death, and I got even closer, my mom broke out a Thunder III to scrape out a win. Wasn't too bad of a fight truly, could have gone easier if we had a little coordination. This would definitely be a good fight to bum rush with DD jobs. The dragon's accuracy seems to be quite high, I don't recall any of us avoiding a hit, and when my stoneskin was down, it was hitting me for 90-180. Thankfully, he has little in the way of defense, either physical or magical. For those who would be curious, your buffs wear off when you enter.
