Description

Keshab-Menjab has been hearing tales of his recycled rods breaking and is concerned this is ruining his business. He wants you to travel to Bibiki Bay to find a Cleanly Snapped Rod and return it to him.

The Cleanly Snapped Rod is a rare/ex item dropped from fishing NM pugils at Purgonorgo Isle using a Composite Rod and Minnow (recommended).

Return to Mhuara and trade the rod to Keshab-Menjab for your reward.

This NM can be fished up even if you don't have the quest flagged.

I fished this thing up a ton with a sinking minnow and composite rod. I was there with a little LS event playing around, i fished him up about 10 times within an hour, he hit kinda hard, i might have been able to solo him as a 64 blm, but there were always other people there messing around helping with the fight ^^

Did this quest recently with my lvl 55 nin/war. I fished up Lancet Jagil twice on P. Isle with a Mithran Fishing Rod and Minnow. The insuing fight (both times) was a cake walk. He hit me 0 times the first fight, and did a massive 14 dmg the second (special attack through my shadows). I got a 14 exp for the kill. I'd wager his level to be around 50.

I thought Ex meant you couldn't trade that item?

Ex means you can't trade the item to other players, you can still give them to NPCs.

Fish on the boat of bibiki, I saw many people catching pug. Dont know if its the one, but it seems youre fishing monsters more often than fishes when on the boat.

Just my 2 cents...but Im a bit angry about SE. Im level 51 and everywhere I went in the new areas, Im too low. It is also not an easy task to find a group to investigate new areas too...so...im screwed a bit.

Im also a BLM so I really cant take alone most of the easy mob available or even some Too weak. I also fish in bibiki, with my poor level 3 fishing, and I catched a pug that almost ripped me appart...by chance, I was help by a high level japanese, that took good minutes to kill it. And I decided not to fish anymore in this area for a while. *sigh*

In a couple of days Ill be high enough to wander without prob, but...Im thinking about the people with level 30-40 or even 20 characters...how can they enjoy promathia?

Chance of certain eath is what makes skydiving and bungee jumping fun.

actually for skydiving it's that wonderful feeling of weightlessness with clouds all around you, like you are flying by yourself, no airplane or anything.

CoP is an expansion. It's made to add things to do after you are bored with what the main game (and zilart) offers. So it's reasonable that it's made to be challenging for higher level people who have done all the other stuff and gotten bored.

But a lot of teh CoP stuff is capped at lower levels (Promyvions), so they must of intended lower levels to use CoP too! ^^

I actually was looking for an alternitive to fishing in Bubu,. went to this isle as 61 blm, used Rogue Rig, and caught this badboy. After 5 hits I was in yellow, decided I couldnt handle it by surprise, and warped. I did not try to sleep or bind him,... I did not expect to catch a NM, but, you best come prepared for catching this NM, cause I fished him up first try,...

Given the quest writeup isn't very complete, I'll add some more info:

Take a Manaclipper to the isle of Bibiki Bay. You can fish up the NM on the first beach; it seems to like Peeled Crayfish. Fishing skill doesn't seem to matter. You might also fish up a crab, kraken or regular pugil.
NM is estimated lvl50. The rod is a regular drop. Reward I believe was 2000gil (?). It's between 1500-3000, sorry I can't remember it exactly (it's been a few weeks). Keep in mind that if you cannot warp back to HP or want to take the ship back to the main landing, there's only one every half hour to/from the island. Clamming and selling items to NPC (from clamming or fishing) on this island is a good (and somewhat profitable) way to kill time waiting.

Happy hunting!

Theres the Jeuno light the streetlamps quest where all you get is fame, so legit question reading it from the angle "Do I get an item or just fame"
reward?
# Oct 20 2004 at 10:16 PM Rating: Good
