I may just suck at managing my threat, but I've been having a lot of trouble lately pulling off of a particular tank--he's a friend, though, and he knows what he's doing, so if it's a problem with him it has to be a gear issue, and I don't *think* his gear is that bad. I don't have problems with any other tanks, though, so I'm really not sure. All I know is I managed to pull Heigan off of him, twice. /me fails
Here's
his Armory, and here's
mine.
I try to run without any addons if possible, up until now the in-game threat meter has been sufficient, but it seems like it jumps up to yellow and one autoshot later I've pulled. It takes me almost no time after FD to get back up to 70% or so of his threat, whereas with most tanks I am much, much lower on threat than they are. I'm going to be picking up Omen again so I can keep a closer eye on things--maybe I'm not the only one keeping relatively high on threat--but I don't know if that will solve my problems so much as hopefully explain what's going on.
Also since I fail at managing my threat relative to his and I expect to be running Naxx with him a fair bit in the future, I am considering going back to BM. I have heard that it isn't too bad now, and that I can get away with leaving my agi gems in for when I want to switch back to SV (or if I buy dual spec). Respeccing will hopefully split the threat a little more evenly between me and my pet at least. I'm not sure on which glyphs to make, though--Bestial Wrath is an obvious choice, but I'm not sure what would be best out of the other options for a BM spec. I think I can live without Serpent Sting so long as there are pallies around so I'm not running out of mana refreshing it, so would Steady Shot and Kill Shot be the best choices for my other two? Or is there some awesome new combination floating around that I've lost track of while I've been specced SV?
