2014 is being ranked at the hottest year on record by NASA and NOAA. Skeptics and critics are trying to make hay out it saying that maybe the data shows it's only the second hottest year on record. Take that, NASA! Meanwhile Pope Francis is preparing a papal encyclical stating that, as far as the Church is concerned, global warming is real and is man-made thus giving conservatives reason to dislike this insane maverick pope even more than they did when he dared to discuss poverty.

Also in the news, the Supreme Court of the United States has agreed to take up a case concerning same-sex marriage, potentially paving the way for national recognition. This would probably be a relief to a lot of election-minded conservatives who would just like the issue to go away and would rather not continue to preach to the social conservative wing on a losing issue. Of course there's no sure bet which way the Court will rule but common assumption seems to be an upcoming win for SSM.

I'm going to get my southern trips in now then, before arizona becomes completely inhospitable.

I imagine that it wouldn't take much warming before things just start bursting into flame based on my last visit.

You mean the Oil Companies here generous enough to share their reserves with Mother Nature.

Meh, I don't watch Flash, and I'm downloading Agent Carter to binge watch once it's wrapped up.

I watched the first 10 mins of the pilot for Agent Carter and turned it off. Couldn't get into S.H.I.E.L.D. either. Got bored of Arrow after 4-5 episodes.

I haven't gotten into any of the recent shows.

I have been watching mind of a chef though, which is awesome.

Broadchurch from the BBC is on netflix & can & should be marathoned. It was like a British version of True Detective with the 10th Doctor as the lead. 2nd season has started overseas & gets to BBC America in March I believe.

Actually, it is the original British version of Gracepoint, not True Detective. I am going to watch it soon, because Gracepoint was so good, and I heard the ending is not exactly the same.

Broadchurch

Grace Point

ETA: I misread your post, my bad.

I had no idea FOX remade it already & with David Tennant!?!! Heck, the 2nd Season of Broadchurch is just about to start. That has got to be the quickest remake of a TV show ever.

That would be a really unfortunate advertisement on the article I linked.

I'm building a tiki bar in my yard.

I figure by 2035 it should be a tropical shoreline.

Or at least hands-free driving and jet packs.

In other news. President Obama is said to speak on some stuff today. Something about unions for states or something. Eh.

How about how every single TV show that I've been following over the last few years has ended in the last eighteen months or so. Tonight starts the final season of Justified. After that, all I've got is Agents of Shield, Game of Thrones and some reality shows.

Unions for states? Same Sex Marriage? Why's he interrupting Prime Time Television to talk about States and Gay Marriage?

I think it's actually for states to marry each other. The slippery slope has become true.
