So, anyone who knows me (which would be barely anyone, as I'm going to make clear in a few words) knows I'm not logged on very often. Lately, that means never. I have to share my PS2 with my brother, and because he can punch harder than I can, he gets in the morning, and often skips lunch to go straight into the afternoon - leaving me no time to play.

We've talked about the problem (my problem), and he says that since I bought FFXI ($260 with keyboard) that he will pay the $80 for a version for the PC, so that I don't have to wait for ever and eternity to play on PS2 (and, if someone is willing to get a WP, we could even pt together).

What I would like to know is this: is that worth it? To start a new character (at my level, that doesn't matter much), the double monthly fees, and the overall cost. The only benefit is that it is effiencent.

As he's offering to buy it, the overall cost doesn't really affect me - it means I'm getting back 80 of my 260, and I'll be able to use it any time I want, since my brother's computer illiterate.

So, what do you think?

80 dollars?? what version of FFXI are you buying? lol... It costs like 40-50 dollars. and I will get you a world pass so you can get back on the server, and I'll get you back your LP too :P

Why not just use your content ID from your PS2 to sign in and use your current character? There is no need to start a whole new character.

hmm. doesn't his brother have a character too? if so then he can't do that because his brother will be on their content ID.

Can I move a content ID from PS2 to computer? I hadn't heard of it, but if I can, it would make things easier for me...

As for the price...I'm in Canada, so it's $80 for the PC version. More than any other game I've ever bought...but, seeing as I'm not the one buying it, all's good.

Thanks for the help - if I can get my brother to go through with the deal, I might actually be logged on one day...

(By the way, if you see Tweek the BLM Taru, poke him for me.)

ok here's the deal with content ID's. They are stored on the servers, not on your ps2 or computer. So you can play with your content ID on anyone's ps2 or computer. So yes you can "move" your content ID to the computer. If you went over to a friends house you could play your content ID on his computer or ps2 :)

He's going to need a new account entirely. The problem is his brother is always online on his PS2, so if he gets the PC version, he's only going to end up booting his brother off the PS2 when he logs into the same account. We can get you a worldpass onto the same server, but you need to destroy your brother.. sounds like he just stole 200 dollars off you

My brother said he'd pay for the game, giving me back 80 bucks, plus another 20 that he said he'd pay simply cause he feels bad, so I'm not that bad off...

And making a new character wouldn't be too bad - all I need is a WP (not yet, though, I'm still checking the specs to see if my computer can handle this), and I'll be set.

By the way...I'm female...^^
