leather padding is your freind - very simple and cheap to make, sells well - if you are able to forge, spend some time in the faydarks, morning dew is a great seller too. you gotta be willng to make the cash to get the stuff you wnat -- i love the fact that i can leave my vendor up all day long at work and come home to see that i made 2k, 5k, or more currently 13k. i also dont run out and spend my cash every time i have a little plat in my leggings. shop smart. shop s-mart.

Thank God the Anonymous bashing is over with! Now, about the bazaar; I just put a trader in there to try and sell the stuff I've packratted away for 51 Lvls. I started by seeing what other traders were offering for the same items. But, by chance, I saw an item offered by an NPC merchant for 5g and change had a low price of 1p in the bazaar. That seemed wierd. I adjusted accordingly. On the other hand I seem to notice a lot of traders are not using traders averages to price stuff but, rather, their own sense of what it is worth, the result being prices seem to have a much wider range, which is bringing all prices into a more reasonable level. (Hooray!). I know without having the bazaar I'd still be running around in my nOOb armor, though.

Let's presume you are indeed a genuine buyer with a bee in your bonnet.

The bazaar is a buyer's godsend, in fact it is better than a dutch auction from buyer's perspective. Apart from simple convenience tThe dynamics of the bazaar effectively mean that sellers bid for buyer's business - the opposite to any normal market - thereby empowering buyers; price to high atm? Just come back tomorrow.

If indirect factors within the economy have driven up prices, dont blame the bazzar for without it the prices would be yet higher still, if in fact you could find a seller with the item you want when you want it.

Cheer up - you can always source a similiar if less potent item at the bazaar if your dream item is out of your market!

Reading through this i had to reply, its too funny. First of all the bazzar is a godsend to newbiee players if you are willing to some work and understand the economy of your server, allow me to explain. The 5pp spider silks that everyone is always talking about make perfect sense. When I was a newbie because of the way the drop engine is set up I got far more spider/spiderling silks dropped than I do now as a higher level toon. That coupled with the fact that I get no exp spending hours at a time farming in the nubb areas trying to get them to bring up my smithing skills (leather padding), i would much rather buy them than farm. Expecially when I can spend that time I would spend farming killing monsters that not only give me xp, but allow me to make 100p an hour when I kill them. When I was a nubb i farmed for higher level players which allowed me to generate enough plat to be able buy decent equipment. Now that I have the money to not have to farm, but I need those items to be able to further my toon, people farm for me. The only problem I see is that at time people do ask outrageous prices on certain items and being a half elf druid whos selection for kewl gear is somewhat limited this gets annoying, but I have a choice on what and when I buy and by being patient I have gotten some incredible bargains from the bazaar. The nuub or person who cant afford to shop the bazzar just has to understand 2 things. 1). there are people higher than him in anything that they are doing as far as tradeskills go. 2).Its more than likely they hate doing the farming and endless subcombines that they have to do to make what they are making, as much as you hate doing the farming and endless subcombines to make what your making. More than likely what your farming or combining can save them some time, and some people are willing to pay to save time, because they know that what they are combining will profit them more than the plat that they are spending will. If you understand that you should never have to worry about not having enough plat.
