Need help with ini file to "move" EQ windowFollow

My cable went down yesterday, and somehow my EQ window got stuck at the bottom of my monitor screen and won't let me move it (won't let me right click and use move, won't let me grab top bar to move, and so on). The opening download screen is ok, after that, I can't even get into it because you can't see the accept button. I know there is a way to move it by changing the ini file.

Can some kind person tell me the name of the ini file to change and approximately what numbers to use, by checking your own settings? Hopefully I can fix it when I get home from work.

I had this problem once with eqwindow. Try looking in the ini file, ini file find window postion and change 1230x 800 to 0,0. I made this change and it worked for me.

What is the name of the ini file, there's a lot of them, and many have positioning info, I am assuming for the UI, but where is the main window positioning?

I read through all the non-toon named files, and I must be missing the obvious. I do not have an eqwindow.ini file.

Eqclint.ini is the configuration file which if deleted EQ will make a new one with defaults.

Thank you Krackum!

You should see what SOE (NO)tech support told me to do, his instructions started with delete all ini files, and a sh_tload of other files and folders!!!!!!! Can you just imagine some poor player doing that? You could have a nice cry while you re-did all your spell sets, UI placement, bazaar files, etc.

/edit
Note: This worked great. I really wanted verification that I was doing the right file (I didn't delete it, just renamed it because I have severe paranoia). If you did not have "All" checked on view models and so on, you may have to go in and re-do your main options when you start up (but at least you CAN start up).

This is how I move the EQ window, I don't know if it will work for everyone:

With EQ open, minimize it to the taskbar (alt-tab or whatever) so that your normal Windows mouse is back. Right click the EQ window on the taskbar. Your mouse cursor will be gone, but you can still hit the 'm' key to select move. Then move the window using the arrow keys and hit enter when it's where you want it. A lot simpler than editting or deleting the ini file.

When I do that, I kept my cursor and can select close or restore, all other options greyed out. But since you said it worked I played with it, finally made it work, with EQ on the screen, hit the windows key, and did it, then it worked.
Slick, and thank you for the hint. I could never get it to do that because I didn't try enough ways.

Glad to hear you got it working. I had a similar problem and it took me a while of ******** around with it to finally get the window moved.

Oh, and I think I see what you mean. Since your window had 'restore' as an option that means that EQ was still fullscreen and not in windowed mode, otherwise restore wouldn't be an option. You need to be in windowed mode to use move, so next time you don't have the move option try alt+entering to get out of fullscreen.

I had to end up finding my backup (I have to get better, it's been months) and restored eqclient.ini from there, as it turns out, that file controls all your various text colors and any changes you made to keyboard/mouse and other option settings in and out of game, as well as placement of each individual window along the loading process. It sounds like nothing, but once you are used to yellow meaning this or orange that, it's hard to function with different colors (at least for me after using the same setting for years).

Take a lesson from me the dummy and make yourself a backup, at least of all your ini files.
