New newbie armor quests, what do ya think?Follow

No one ever seems to post over here so I figured I would give it a shot. So what is your opinion on the new armor quests for 11-20ish. Have you done any? Have you finished all of them? i personally have done a few. I got a sweet cloak, ring, and mantle which are all much better than I could otherwise quest or purchase since my main is a wimpy 15 shaman.

I have started some newbies to try out these quests and for the most part I find them well thought out and fun. There are some new items you didn't get with the old newbie armor quests and the gradual progression of getting the next quests as you level is also fun and engaging. They also direct you to a lot of different zones so a real newbie can learn some geography while they are at it.

On the other hand, there is some tuning required on some of them still. The GFay quest requires killing bandits that have been removed, presumably for the 'war' events, so that one is blocked atm. The SRo quest requires killing the Dervish Cutthroat leader 'Modrak' but he a very rare spawn. Lets just say I have seen two Ancient Cyclops in the days I have spent looking for him. Also having a tracker along helps find some of these mobs.

All in all, though, I like them alot.

I have to say that, on the whole, I enjoyed what I've seen of these quests so far. Igok (in Innothule Swamp) was a pain to find, but... Seems like lately a lot of the zones for these quests have been taken over by Teir'Dal, though I hear that they don't attack anymore - gonna check that out tonight. If anyone has some advice to pass along, I'm kinda stuck on the "Misty Shrouds" quest from V'lynn - I'm to "uncover the hidden threat" which makes me think of invisibility, but I haven't found a caster to give me a hand with that yet. Thank goodness that these quests are for those with PoP, 'cause the travelling would definitely give you a headache... :)

Investigate the Shadowedman site in the South east corner of the western section. Get close to the camp before killing everything.

Yes the hidden threat is a group of Dark Elf Shadowed Assasins at the base of the wall hanging arround a tree stump at neg 1080 and neg 214.

I'm pretty new to EQ, and all my mains are pretty low-level. I love the armor I'm getting, and it's a great way to check out new zones. I'm stuck in Feerrott. though. Where can I find the Caravan Chests to get the Lambent Stones? I agree about Igok. Had to come to Allakhazam, found out I could stop craning my neck looking up in the trees. I've heard bad things about Permafrost, and already got KO'd by Iksars in Field o' Bones! If you're all still doing these quests, please keep this thread going. Now, about those stones...?

Caravan chests are in the river south of the bridge. You need to swim underwater to see them. They can be anywhere in the forks of the river or in the main river south of the bridge.

When you open the chests a "Cursed Guardian" will pop. seems to be 12 - 16.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Soon as I get out of Shadowhaven, I'm gonna try that. :}

Sorry. I meant Shadowrest!! You know...big guy, flowing black robe, wicked sythe. The lizard robbers in Rathe Mountains put me there. I'll try them, again, in another couple of levels. Can't stand their healers. Lol.

These quest items (armor) can be great.. make sure you keep going back to which ever of the two out of Three armor quest NPC's you can use as they grant new quests all the way up to L19 and you will not be shown the higher ones until u level up

PS These items are great..particualrly if you do not have a Tradeskill Toon on your account..BUT The hands down, beyond a doubt, best armor in the game for a below 25 toon is Journeyman Level for your race of the New DoN cultural Armor WITH the class 11 auggies...all stats can easily reach the 125 plus range with resists all near 100. The trivial levels for journeyman are easily reached

Actually the secret to uncover is in the Misty Shrouds quest under "uncover the hidden threat" is to kill the assassins that are located south of the wall on the west side of the zone hope this helps someone not spend 2 hours in the zone trying to figure it out :)

The trick is finding LDoN groups ::mutter:: none of my characters (who are all between 15 - 25) have been on a single LDoN.

They should make it easier to partner instead of multi-player groups. I don't intend to buy the latest expansion for a long time, but I'm getting really tired of not being able to find LDoN groups for lower level characters.

Could I get some help with Mograk, where he pops, or how to make him pop. I have spent way to much time looking for him and killing dervishes to make this quest worth my while.

I found him hiding in a corner, woot!
