PvP and brokeFollow

#1 Jul 27 2005 at 11:55 PM Rating: Decent
Ok, so I got this bright idea to try out the Zek Server. I've never played PvP so I thought it would be interesting. I did the tutorial and got to level 6 quick. I've got the given gear items, some burlap and basic armor pieces off the named - but that's no comparison to the other toons I've seen in there.

I can't even run through the tutorial without punks casting stuff on me. I keep being told that you can't PK in the tutorial - but I don't think this applies to pets - since I keep getting attacked by them.

Has anyone started a non-twink toon on PvP that could offer a bit of advice? I'm not looking for a hand-hold as that defeats the point of PvP - but if anyone would like to share a strategy or 2 I'd be one happy camper!

PvP is 99% gear...........Without it you are dead
I mean I don't mean to sound negative and all....but PvP is gear.......very little skill goes into it(and the 1% that is skill is figuring out how to beat those with much better gear than you .......).

Since the merger PVP is murder without prior characters your only chance is to get into an well established guild that can protect you. Even then you will be behind the 8-Ball. It is very tough to fight a level 6 twink with 200k+ in gear and maxed buffed before he leaves PoK.

What do you expect someone to tell you how a Toon with 1000 hit points and 100ac Buffed can beat another Toon with 2000 hit points and 500ac and 20 regen. Numbers may be exaggerated but compairission is probably close.

When your grossly out classed you are going to lose and the thing with pvp for points, and points get you gear everyone is fair game. If you are dead set on playing pvp go to ebay buy 500k in plat then hit the bazaar.

Well I fail to believe that buying pp is the way to go! I do recognize I am horribly disadvantaged, but where there is a will there's a way to do anything. I just need to seek out those more disadvantaged than I - I'm sure they're out there.

It sounds to me like you should probably avoid PvP situations until you can be sure to have good enough gear. Play the game the way you usually do until you see someone that obviously has worse gear.

Of course, this will force you to live a reclusive lifestyle, but hey, thats the point of the phrase "Every man for himself".

Bear in mind that I have absolutely no experience with PvP in EQ and I'm not really sure how easy my strategy would be for you.
