Second Week in a row, I'm the one starting this??? I thought this was an old standby...

Anyway...

Friday - no EQ. Felt sick, was sleeping by 8pm.

Saturday - Plat farming for a few hours, fought in Dranik's Scar for a while with a guildie, leveled my Ranger in OT.

Sunday - Off and on all day. Nothing exciting.

/rant

Having too many toons, with goals for every one of them, all around the same level range really sucks. I'm in the middle of having all these charachters I enjoy playing, and I find myself in the same zone, time and time again. It's like, didn't I just LEAVE this place?

I gotta start working on 1.5, just to break the monotony, methinks.

/rant off

Saturday I finally found and bought Spell: Demi Lich for less than 9k (though 5K was still half of my cash).

Sunday I finally made the last 4% to level 58. Also found a guy buying Nightmarewood Bow Staves while soloing in PoN. Looted a staff just as he /OOC'd, sold it to him, then informed him that thre was another on my trader, which he bought overnight. Smiley: grin

No clue what I did Friday. I'm fairly sure I did something. At some point my Shadowknight dinged 50. On Saturday evening, a group of us went into Howling Stones. It was pretty much a first for all of us and it was a blast. Pretty much a comedy of errors discovering the various pits and whatnot but we had fun just poking around and trying to discover the keys, etc.

Sunday I mainly worked on my Shadowknight's Greenmist quest. No super-special reason for it (though it'll be fun to poke at Ssra snakes with it) but I get bored without goals. Need Drusella's mirror, some pages from CoM and the golem kill in the Outpost and I'm about golden.

Heh.. when I joined Aude Sapere, I pretty much set aside my 65 bard (except for soloing and farming) to level up with the guild. I worked on my Shadowknight for a bit but, when I saw we had lots of tanks and few DPS classes, changed over to working my up rogue. I took a break with the rogue at 53 and the SK at 46 and returned to find a gob of DPS classes in the guild and only one active 50+ tank. So now I'm back to the SK to at least have another tank but still want to push the rogue up to 55. On top of that, enough people are 57+ to make playing the bard attractive Smiley: oyvey

None of which is about the guild itself -- they'd always say "play what you want" but rather me juggling my own goals for 3+ characters. Right now I mainly deal by setting short term goals: Hit 55 with the rogue for double-backstab + Ornate, get my Greenmist for the SK (it was to hit 50 so I could use my OT Hammer and Jagged Sword of Dragon Slaying), etc.

I'm having a hard enough time trying to play my main (a druid) with the group of RL friends I have that enjoy playing EQ, and splitting time with my OTHER main (a pally) in a guild that wonders every once in a while, "Hey, where you been, bro???"

This is NOT to mention the other 10+ toons I have across 2 different servers....sigh...

I only managed to log on for an hour and half this weekend.

Spent all day Saturday at the dog tracks. Made $120 (just to spite my wife) and picked up 4 new dogs.

Dinged 63 on Sunday morning, then worked outside for most of the rest of the day.

played lots of EQ, but most importantly:
Sun, after 20 months playing EQ, I made my first AA (RS1, with my 51 Wiz).

PS: fupp off, if ye want to tell me, that I should wait with AA until 70...Smiley: tongue

Saturday - Moved a friend all day.
Sunday - Lazy but a bunch of us went out to dinner.

As for that first AA, just got mine within the last two weeks after 4 1/2 years. I know I am pathetic but I barely played sometimes for months at a clip.

We are doing backflags, so at one point I helped do KOS/Saryn and got the little druid his flags for that while I was at it. Boxed a buddies cleric as well for that.

Then at some point we raided some zone you gotta be 69 to enter, killed a couple of mobs, one with 2 heads, and I got some cheesy Frozen Bow.

Haven't been around that much lately Smiley: smile

As usually, my weekend starts on:

Thu: First session since 3 weeks ago. Again LDoNs with friends, my first in Everfrost. Beastlord dinged 28. Crap loot this time, no augs, no items, no money (except for some copper...)

Fri-Sun: No EQ, this weekend belonged to my girlfriend.

Mon: We bought a new Notebook for my girlfriend, no more fighting for the computer! Hope to be online much more often from now on (at least my trader will...) Smiley: yippeeSmiley: yippeeSmiley: yippee

Friday finaly got Necro his last flag for elementals.

Saturday killed 4 Sol Ro minis for what seems like fifth time.

Sunday killed a couple of PoP flag mobs but cant rember what ones. Messed around in Hole solo with necro trying to farm some words to maybe get cleric RGC finaly got a Yaeth pg73 left Doh! so close had bad pull trying break into temple area and died.

Went try and exp grind in fire but had no luck finding my way around zone and eventualy died trying to swim down a lava tunel.

Went to HoH to finish last 2% of level 67 I had put Necro at 90% to AA exp once he had reached 10% into 67 so 88% of 67% came from that 10% so I consider level 68 my free level took me exactly 100aa points to fill up exp bar though had a huge number of deaths and im sure that added allot to total amount of exp needed.

Just as I suspected HoH exp turned to crap once I hit 68 cut in half it seems so all the bakers and young necros that have been buying hero parts and spec ethral spells from me are going to have to find a new suplier.

A friend of mine finaly explains how to use lev to get out of first area in Fire and tells me way to tables exp grind spot. So I head that way die once but make it there on second atempt. Very bad lag once I get there makes soloing harder then it should be but Exp is as good as it been described. Make my 10% real exp buffer into 68 right before I run behind a crate while kiteing a mob and get stuck virtue has just faded and mob catches me and hits me six times for 850. So I run to guild lobby to summon corpse and get a rez before I log. Seems I have found replacement for HoH just in time though.

Log in bazaar mule before I head to bed when I remember I need to buy some runes for my 68 spells pull up bazaar window and type in muramite rune and then get pissed off some goddamn idiot has decided to buy up all the 68 runes in bazaar and jack the price from 3k a rune to 12k.

Same crap happend right as necro was hitting 67 so he had to wait three weeks to get all his 67 spell while person trying to corner market slowly was educated to the folly trying to rig the price on a item that drops in mutipule zone of many different type of mobs. Now it seems I have to wait again for my 68 spells while another fool learns about how supply and demand works.

Fairly good weekend getting close to point where I turn off AA exp and head to level 70.

Don't listen to the people who tell you to lvl 70 first. I posted on this before but basically said that each class varies but should have a good amount of aa's for each lvl. AA's do help your character out a lot. Tanks need defensive, healers need heal crits, dps need crits, etc. I had lots of people tell me to level 70 than do the aa's. I ignored them and did what I wanted to do. I'm now 70 with a better base of aa's than those who leveled first. I never once regretted holding out on levels to get my aa's. It shows in my abilities too. Smiley: smile Everyone is level 70, but not everyone has those aa's that make you better than the norm.

One thing you lose on leveling before aa's is the places for good xp. I recomend setting a number of aa's for each level up to 70. Stick to aa xp until you reach that goal and than level up. This will also keep your regular xp spots changing along the way. A zone that was good at 62 is no longer at 65 or 70. You'll get a change of scenary and mobs. Or you could level to 70 and grind ALL your aa's in the same spots. Do what you want to do. Ask those who are higher and play the same class. Ask what they recomend and make a decision based on their info and your style and what you want in the game.

Very very true. I recieved a great compliment recently when invited to a pickup group in WoS. After the first few seconds of tanking for this new group, the cleric says something like: "This pally is good". Not sure what he's talking about, so I ask. Basically, he says that he's regularly run into level 70 tanks that are harder to heal then I am at level 66. Part of that may be gear (although I'm hardly "uber" by any measure), but a huge part of that is that I've spent the time working up my AAs.

The journey is at least as important as the destination. Those who argue to level first then get AAs are focusing on the end goal of being level 70. But some of us want to have fun along the way, and AAs make that possible. In the end, it's totally up to the player. I personally feel it's a lot easier to get into groups if you pace yourself as you level by getting AAs in between. Gear upgrades work similarly. You don't want to outlevel your gear, so sometimes it's a good idea to stop and AA for a bit until you can pick up better stuff. This obviously matters a lot more for tanks then say casters, but it's somewhat relevant to all classes to some degree.

As to my weekend? Didn't play EQ at all. Darn RL intervening... :(

On Friday and Saturday I played around with the beta test of the new expansion.
I also turned 52 on Friday. No big celebration. Gave a bus tour to NY group on Saturday.

On Sunday I played my beastlord and started the DON armor quests for courtin before gukta gets overrun by trolls and we frogloks may be moved to another place.
