Monday morning, here we go...

Fri: Was ill, stayed at home, played some EQ. Went to Butcherblock to farm some Goblin blood and heads. Made about 50pp, then I got bored and logged off. Came back in the afternoon and cleared some bank slots by making food (Smoked Wood Elf, Hot'n'Spicy Toelings, Winter Chocolate...).

Sat: No EQ for me.

Sun: LDoNs with friends in LFay, Shadowknight (main tank), Necro, my Beastlord. My group got wiped in the first adventure, and we ran out of time. 5 minutes before the end, we still had to make 4 kills. The Shadowknight pulled and got 2 ads. We managed to kill all 3 mobs, but the SK went down. 2 minutes and 1 kill to go, and only my Beastlord and the Necro left, both low on mana and health. I tried to pull the nearest mob, fell over an edge, got 3 ads and died. Smiley: banghead
We lost the first adventure. Made another afterwards, and that one went really well. Dinged 29 and 30 (for the first time ever)! Smiley: yippeeSmiley: waycool

Fri - Left work early. Logged in to EQ and put up LFG for an hour, didn't get an invite and couldn't find a healer to put my own group together. So went off and led a pickup raid Hedge Walk. Killed 8 peeps trying to cross the river, but finally got in and we were successful. Man I hate that river!

Sat - Spent an hour waiting to get an invite into a SolRo raid, needed to be 85ed. Finally got an invite, and zoned in. Spent another 3 hours killing trash mobs while waiting until the raid leader figured out that we couldn't get into the chamber without killing the Mini's. We did some kind of jump in, camp out to an alt, invite to a new raid thing. It didn't work - and after a total of 5 hours the raid was called off.

Then ran around Western Wastes killing the banished efreeti for all of my toons and guildees so we can zone into SolRo now.

Sun - Made a new Magelo background while watching Miss Congeniality 2 - the wife made me watch. Then spent a couple of hours in a PoV grp. Ended the night with an hour of xp time on my little mage, hard core solo time.

Didn't play myself, but saw the girlfriend and her guild plow through Anguish in 3 hours. After that, I was witness of two brave (but unsuccesful) attempts at Vishimtar (what a great script, mayor carnage) and some final epic 2.0 fights (which, unlike Vish, are a total bore).

Pulled out my dusty Paladin and set out to re-equip him. (that reminds me I hafta update my Magelo) Got an Incredible deal! Picked up an Edge of Envelopment for 5k!!! Smiley: yippee

Did about 6 or 7 ldons this weekend and had a blast!
Was also like Smiley: confused when I noticed they killed the Paladins heal over time, used to give ya a 400 point heal...now its like 40 ~ 100 points a tick....sigh another useless spell now.

After killing a kajillion ghosts in City of Mist, half a kajillion goblins in Frontier Mts and a single Fallen Raider in Kaesora, my Shadowknight headed off to Droga to do the combine on her Stupendous Tome. Had a fun, harrowing run through the red con zone and realized that one should drink their Ant potions before invising and running all the way to the gate you need to sneak under. Anyway, got my book made, went to Cabilis, slammed an Iksar potion, found Evil Grand Overlord Xog (or whatever his name is) and gave him my book and Hero's Khukri.

I have no need for this, Inlee. You can have it back.
I have no need for this, Inlee. You can have it back.

Smiley: dubious

Since Iksar illusion only brought me to Amiable, I think it might be a faction thing yet. Farmed six stacks of explorer knives, handed them in and con warmly to Crusaders now while under illusion. Now I just need to farm more Iksar meat out of Dulak for more potions since I ran out and can't try it again.

The good news is that I got my vial of Ty-whatever-ium while I was there so we can beat up the Glowing Cliff Golem. Joy!

Finished the trial earlier this week. Newbie to EQ so, I figured I would wait a few days to see if I missed it.

I did :)

So, I bought a subscription and i'll be picking up platinum in a few days. So, without further ado:

Fri - Iksar Necromancer and worked on finishing the tutorial, made level 10 and every armour slot was equipped :) So, I left the tutorial. Left with 52 platinum and all but 1 spell that I needed. Fear - Had no idea it would a useful spell for a necromancer.

Sat - Got on late in the evening and worked on getting around the Plane of Knowledge. Got the task for the Butcherblock hauntings, so with the help of some high levels in Plane of Knowledge found the book and got to Butcherblock. More help there in being told where things were and what to kill for platinum. Found the CHessboard and set to work killing pawns.

Sun - Finished the Butcherblock Task and with the pointers on killing the goblins had 124 pp total for my character. So, I went back to Plane of Knowledge and bought 1 11th spell and 2 12th level spells, found out the Trilogy doesn't give access to Echo Caverns so i could not get my pet focus spell.

So, I am currently 11th in Field of Bone getting ready to do a task for the Black Hand Organization and I bought a premium membership here :)

I wandered around a few zones doing the human tradeskill quests for DON books, and when the ranger was done that played some in OT doing a task I picked up in POK.
Briefly played winjon on sunday morning before going to work, played courtin for tradeskill items and to finish up the one don book, think it was for journeyman.

LOL, I smell a troll.

If it's such rubbish then don't read posts entitled "Weekend Update". Some of us others enjoy seeing what other folks do because it can often give us ideas of stuff to try or do ourselves.

Go back to FFXI and post your crap there.

If you gonna post about EQ related stuff u doing try n make it interesting. Like cleared Anguish then wiped twice on OMM. Or cleared Tacvi in 3hours 40mins. Tell people the loot that dropped or upgrades you got, interesting stuff like that. Don't say "spent an hour lfg then logged". If this happens often open a new account and powerlevel a cleric. And why are so many posters on these forums low level?

Ahhh...so we have a racer here. (One that Races to the Almighty 70 without actually playing any of the game before Anguish)

Beleive it or not there is plenty of Great content in EQ before level 65, 60, 55, 50...etc.
Also this is a place where Lower level players can gain information from more experienced players.

Now why dont you do us all a favor and go troll Yantis or better yet have you tried EQ2? Im sure yuou'd fit in very well there.

Buh Bye now...Smiley: goat

So the ONLY thing interesting in EQ these days is High End raiding content? Heh. Ever occur to you that some folks don't like raiding or simply don't have the time to join a raiding guild? There is plenty of interesting content out there that does not involve raiding.

You know, there are people like me who play once/twice a week, 3 hours at a time. Try to reach 60. Or 50. Or even 40. Without power-leveling, without uber twinking (oh, how I hate the word uber), just good old hack'n'slay in a group. Actually, this is still quite fun - believe it or not.

"Ahhh...so we have a racer here. (One that Races to the Almighty 70 without actually playing any of the game before Anguish)"

And from my point of view you are on of the many players who has never experienced what the end game has to offer and probably never will.

"Beleive it or not there is plenty of Great content in EQ before level 65, 60, 55, 50...etc."

Lots of content in EQ, no doubt, so much so that many old world zones remain empty day in day out. Also "believe" is the correct spelling since I goes before E except after C.

:)

Smiley: confused

Um, because, this is a thread devoted to posting lame crap we do in EQ on a site devoted to the aforementioned lame crap we do in EQ.

Smiley: oyvey

With 44 posts, and scholar rating, I would have thought you'd have figured that out by now.

Smiley: laugh

Seriously, Weekend Update is a standard weekly thread devoted to just as you called it, the lame crap we do in EQ. Some of the most wise, and prolific people on this board post here. The thread is *clearly* labeled the same thing every week, and the content in this paticular thread is pretty indicative of what you'll find here.

If you've decided that the information contained within is not to your liking, start your own thread.
Name it something like:

The crap I do in EQ is way cooler than the crap you do.

~~~
Okay, now for my update, late as it is:
Friday: Went to a party, logged on really late to put my trader back up. (My trader usually logs out while I'm at work, at some point.) I'm discovering that playing the market can be alot of fun, when I have limited time to actually play the game.
Saturday: Kited Hill Giants with my level 33 shaman - I kept ******** up and geting my pet eaten, and once I actually died. Oh well, you have to learn sometime. Nonetheless, made some decent plat, and got most of the way to level 34. (one yellow away)
Sunday: Got all the pieces for my Earthen Gloves of Wisdom, which I subsequently got on Monday. Made some crazy money on my trader. (Well, for me, anything over 5k is crazy, lol.) Took my Dad to see Fantastic Four, which was fun.
Friday: Dinged 60, then dinged 59. Helped Dothammer with a drop in CoM. Had a named (Terror Wrath I think) pop on the two of us while I was at 50% HP. Killed the named with 3% HP left, shew! Like a dummy I didn't go outside the room to bandage and another mob popped when I was at 4% HP. We got the mob down to below 40% HP before I died.
Saturday: Went to PoDisease with a pickup group. Pulled a level 73 named to a group with an average level of 59. And, they warned me not to pull it. Joph even specifically asked me not to pull it while his double-xp was running! See, his problem was that he said don't pull the level 95 death bug. I didn't see the name "death bug" anywhere. I'm a smart barbarian. We wiped.
Sunday: Did the instanced Unrest. I triggered the event that spawns the undead before we were ready (the whole group was spread out all over). We wiped. But after we composed ourselves it was awesome! DB mobs, no repops, decent XP for DBs, good story. Kudos to SOE for a well thought-out and executed dungeon/mission. I highly recommend the instanced Unrest!
