Tuesday night Update 08-09-05Follow

#1 Aug 10 2005 at 8:42 AM Rating: Good
Thought I might throw this out there and see if it floats. Thanks to that Bozo (Rossd from weekend update) I realized just how much I enjoy the Weekend thread. So, lets give it a try...

Went to Com with my Shammy buddy and other friend (group was: 65 Druid, 65 Shammy and 54 Necro) looking to see if we could get the Shammy his last epic drop there. All was going well we were dropping Black Reavers very handily until....Lord Ghiosk spawned....can u say owned? he wrecked us which kinda surprised us due to his level. Maybe we just needed a tank to keep the heat of us casters.

Oh well, we'll try again. Smiley: smile

I finally logged on last night, and got a BoT group. Everything was going pretty well until my connectiong went crazy, I went LD and couldn't get back online.

Sorry group Smiley: cry

Been living in the forgotten halls lately, exp is a grind but haven't had too many distractions and the no-agro aspect of playing with the rats is nice. Kill 1 and can take a break np.

hrmm, really with that setup you should easily be able to take down Ghiosk. Though he can catch you by surprise sometimes, the Shammy should be able to tank him fine and just let the druid/necro dot him to death.

Took the 51 SK on a run through Karnor's to pick up the Shattered Blade of Rile. Was happy to see the gatehouse mobs conned amiable but they must work for the Karnor's Castle Chamber of Commerce or something 'cause the rest of the zone wanted to kill me. A SoW potion, a lot of feigning and some selective invisibility got me to the ground spawn and one hell of a train got me back out. Luckily, the zone was empty except for me.

Then I went to the temple in Gunthak to try to solo and decided that fighting luggalds who'd been hasted and buffed by the troll shamans wasn't all that fruitful. Headed to Dulak and spent a half hour running my Vet AA xp buff and Flappy to net a gold before they wore off. Not amazing but for the 50's and solo, I was happy.

Hopefully Thursday night will see me back in Norrath.

Not many guildies on last night and they were off on their own so I kicked back solo with level 21 Beastlord. Made 1 yellow from level 22 in LoIO so I went to Paludal to top off and worked my way through Patogs and anything else that was DB. Cleared out the Outcast Bugs and before I knew it I was level 23...hehe...one more level and I can say...NO SoW for joo!

Heh owned by a mob 12 levels below you, prehaps you should work on a few more aa's and levels, and pay a visit to bazaar for some upgrades.

Got my cleric/war combo from 20 to 24 in about 2.5 hours in PC. Later took my main to PoV to try and get to 63. Came up 1 yellow short before I had to log. I got 2 ethereal parchments and wouldn't you know it, I got the same 2 spells I got last time.... ohh well.

Also wanted to add a little anecdote, there was this rogue who asked to join me at first while in PC. I let him in the group and all he would say was PULL... PULL PLZ.... PULL. Cleric was oom so finally I asked him: "are you in a hurry?" His reply "No".... "Can I join your guild?"
WTF???
Ahh didn't stop there he went afk and never came back... after about 10 minutes I disbanded him and left him in B2. I know what you're probably thinking.... Why didn't I disband hime sooner? Well, I guess I must be getting kinda soft :-)

Guildies were in a full group, so I figured I'd mess around for a bit in Rathe Mountains.

I accidentally started my shaman epic while killing Grizzlies in RM for skins. I stumbled upon the bandits there, and sic'd Kebartik on one with out even thinking. (Having a pally main instills certain habits upon you. Killing every bandit in sight is one of said habits.) As soon as puppy hits his bandit, a named cutpurse come running out at me, who promptly drops, and a true spirit spawns. Oh well, I guess that gem can sit in the bank for 17 levels, untill I'm ready to start, lol.

Got a tell offering a donation for healing and a haste. I was amenable. (After all, I'm in RM for the money, whether killing HGs, or farming pelts/skins, *or* taking donations for buffs)

After much pleading I decided to stay for a bit, although both characters were red to me. Healing them was like firing a squirt gun into the ocean, although with my haste, slows and DoTs it was obvious from watching health totals that I was contributing.

I hung out for awhile and made some plat, but eventually I had to politely duck out. It was irritating to me that I had to explain the concept of a "place holder" three times, and that I had to run across zone to re-SoW the overburdened warrior - who was coming back from selling. Also irritating was that I used half my batwings to constant requests for levitation.

Eventually he turned split off, after the group members asked him not to, and I saw that as my cue to say good night. At level 33, the experience there is actually pretty good - when I'm solo. As the group grew I was seeing less and less experience, and turning off split was just the final straw.

Most irritating was that I was infuriatingly close to 34. I should have stayed solo. Live and learn, right?

Logged to trader. I've started a new habit of trying to find under priced upgrades for my characters, buying them, and adjusting them to the price of the market. If no one buys them from my trader in a couple of days, they end up going to the character for which I bought them.
