For my level (55), and for something that isn't TOO hard to get...what is the best secondary item to go with my spear of fate?

Drops in LGuk LDON's. If you go on an LDON with some higher levels or choose hard with characters of your level and higher you should be able to get it to drop eventually. At level 60 I saw them drop rather frequently. You can probably buy it in the bazaar for 5k and other loots that are equally nice...

Been using https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=26397 since the mid 50's unless you already have a MP3/4 item.

From about 55 until I just recently got a Crytal Shield of Rememberance at level 66. The AC, Sta, WIs and HP on it are all good for a shaman.
