Ok since the patch at the begining of the month I have noticed slight pauses (Lag Spikes) while playing EQ. After DoD went live this turned into freezes up to 2 or 3 and quite often. What I have discovered is Everquest is having a minor conflicts with my software firewall. I am useing Computer Associates EZ Armor Firewall. Once I shutdown the Firewall Problems went away, Just thought I would share this info incase anyone else is having problems.

When you have a firewall, you need to tell the firewall that certain applications are allowed to access the internet, not just the type of application like EQ, but each file that may do it like eq.exe, everquest.exe etc. When EQ patches and changes the files, you have to do it all over again or you will get crashes and/or freezes.

The Firewall has been set up to give Eqgame.exe full access and has been working fine for the past year and a half since I installed it. The Firewall came up with the normal post patch message stating that the program eqgame.exe and a couple other files has been altered which I told it to allow. This was the first time I have ever had any problems. Work around is easy enough just posted th OP incase anyone else is having any simular problems as a starting point.
