<big sigh> Well there goes my idea about getting epic 2.0 anytime soon. I'll have to table it like the tier 2 armor I wanted. I have all this stuff in my bank, all this no drop stuff and I won't be able to get rid of any of it for a good long time. You are right. I won't get there anytime fast with a casual raiding group. I have to find some that are as motivated as I am. My guild was doing great then hit a plateau and hasn't moved since. I'm thouroughly depressed now.
There's a reason it's called an epic quest. 2.0s are +300ish mana/hp etc. They are higher than what you can get in only groups. If they made them groupable everyone would have them. They might as well have OOW group mobs drop +200 gear. It's high risk and time for the rewards.

You will never get Anguish in a casual raiding group. The chances of this is almost zilch. Where is your guild currently at?

Question... for those of you who don't do PoP or quests that require CoA... what do you do in the game? I'm starting to get frustrated and bored not being able to complete my goals.
This is where the point of family/casual guilds seperate from raiding guilds. You can only progress so far in a family/casual guild. There's a point where you plateau and all that's left is to xp for aa's and wait for the next expansion. You can try playing an alt for a change or you can look into a different guild.

Once I hit 65 I decided to join a raiding guild. This was the next step in progress for my toon and it was something I wanted to try. It was hard leaving behind my guild and getting to know new people. I have never regretted my decision. Today I'm in a great guild that works together nicely and progresses at a good pace. I've been to zones and seen things I thought I would never see.

You can only go so far in a casual setting.

Single group challenges!

Although I am part of a social raid guild, and not one of the uber crowd, the main thing I play for is the one group encounters.

Things like MPG trials, DoD spell missions, taking down old world raid mobs. Stuff like that, which really stretches the group.

HEH

SET lower GOALS

you want it all without getting there it seems. work with a group of people, going through each lvl of progress, you would be amazed at how good it feels to get upgrades. but no, you have saw the UBER drops, and you want those without any progress, and since you are stuck, you are blaming it all on SOE.

did you ever get armor from kael? from ToV? SSRA? VT? from BoT? Sol Ro? Earth? Fire? Time?....

i am guessing not. and that is why you are stuck, trying to fly before you ever learned to walk :-(

oh well

Please don't put words in my mouth.

There is nothing wrong with wanting the uber drops. I do not blame SOE for not being able to get them at this point in time.

where do you get this from? You do not know what I am capable of. You do not know what skills I have developed. Have you ever heard the term quick study? Not everyone needs to sit in front of the computer for years. Not that it really matters but I learned to walk when I was 7 months old and was 2 years younger than anyone in my HS class. I guess I do everything quickly. We discussed how a person who levels quickly would have a high fizzle rate (caster). All my casting skills are over 200 including my specilized one. I want the progress but there is just so much I can do on my own. I have hit wall after wall and that is why I'm asking for suggestions. I never blamed SOE for being stuck, just bored.

I've been to Kael, SSRA, Sol Ro, and BoT. Don't think I have the faction yet for ToV (I would rather not start another factioning session right now thank you). The other areas I can't get to by myself so why suggest them? Can't get to VT withouth killing Emperor. Can't get to Earth, Fire, or Time without guild.

My early days as a soloist were not always by choice. Necros who can't rez are not that popular.

He's talking about raids. Not soloing or groups.

And you still didn't answer my questions.

My guild is Tier 3 but hasn't been able to progress. We have been here for couple of months.

If he was talking about raids then his post is useless to me. I was trying to get a feel of what to do while my guild is trying to get it's act together. I asked what people do who are not doing PoP or CoA.

I don't want to slow down my pace ("set lower goals"), I want to take my energy and apply it somewhere ("set different goals").

What part are you stuck on? Which mob/s? How many in guild? What type of raiding do you do? And what server are you on?

Why are you focussing on my guild? No matter what I do or what you suggest for them, I can't force them to show up or follow the RL's directives. I will have to change guilds but I am not giving up at the moment. They might find the drive and organization they once had.

There has to be content for someone who doesn't raid. Something that isn't trivial. Are LDoN's the only thing I have to look forward to?

Actually I was trying to get a feel for what the problem was. Sounds like your guild doesn't require raiding. I think if you want to raid you need to find one that does. The guild I'm in raids 4 nights a week. If you're logged on you have to raid. It's a rule and keeps everyone together. When you don't make raids mandatory it can sometimes hurt the guild's progress. The other thing that sounds like a problem is the guild not listening and following the RL's instructions. As you progress raids require more focus and teamwork. Think of it like a sports game like basketball. A team will never win if the players don't pass the ball.

There's plenty to do. Set some goals and try to achieve them. You can try and complete all the DoN group missions. LDoNs to build up yer stone aug. You can explore zones you've never been to. You could try looking up some quests and do some of the more challening ones like the Coldain Shawl or Ring. You can try leveling up a tradeskill and farming the components you need instead of buying them. Mix and match these options and there's plenty to do. You could even try playing an alt. Sometimes I don't feel like there's anything to do I switch to an alt and play. It keeps things different and challenging.

Thank you. I will look into the shawl thing and log on my alts more often.

my point is you set unatainable goals for yourself, then complain that SoE is evil.

my point about those zones is..progress, you progress through the game, achiving goals.

to even think about having your 2.0 without even ever setting foot in time is kinda silly.

i guess you don' "need" time, but it would be a better goal to set for yourself first.

SOE could just as easily bump everyones level to 70 and max their AA out, then you could grind for gear. Same effect.
