A little storyFollow

Two weeks ago, I decided to make for fun some Gnome Kabob for the main tank of our group (he's a gnome warrior). After a quick search on Alla, I decided to to head for Crushbone and give Retlon Brenclog a try for some Gnome Meat.

A /who in Crushbone revealed three other people in the zone, a lowbie making some experience, a 60 warrior and an anonymous guy. When I reached Retlon's pit, he wasn't there. And this is where the story begins.

Me: /ooc Anyone seen Retlon?
Anon: /ooc He will pop soon.
60_WAR: /ooc Who is that?



After a short while, Retlon spawns. I send in my pet bear, he whacks Retlon, Retlon runs for his life and goes down. Pop, another Retlon. I remembered having read that he pops several times, so I send in my pet again. Whack, dead. Pop. Whack, dead. Pop. Whack, dead. No gnome meat.

60_WAR is looking at your equipment.



OK, I thought, maybe he just isn't that polite... no problem.

60_WAR: That guy spawns again when you kill him?
Me: Yeah, he does.
60_WAR: Do you get exp for him?



Remember: Me, lvl 31. Retlon, lvl 15-19.
Me: No, he's too low.
60_WAR: Would you link your breatplate?
Me: Initiate's Breastplate of the Scale
60_WAR: Wow, cool!



No, it's not cool, it's crap, and the reason I wear it is that I don't have enough money yet to buy a better one.

Me: Is this your character?
60_WAR: ??
Me: Was it you that made it all the way to lvl 60?
60_WAR: Yes

I just didn't believe him. Too many signs of not knowing much about the game. I left Crushbone without any Gnome Meat and let this guy do whatever his job was there...

Try merchants in Gunthak lighthouse or if you are >30ish take your group to Dulak's. Plenty of gnomes with meat there.

I've seen similar examples of cluelessness. Not necessarily ebay. could be an inherited/borrowed account. Go to Rathe Mts. and monitor /occ

Soandso says out of character: "What is good to hunt here? Someone told me to go to Rath Mountains for plat"

Soandso is a level 66 character...

Show me a better breastplate for 50pp in bazaar on Xegony server, and I'll give you another 50pp! Anything I found there that would be an upgrade costs at least 1000pp... prices are incredibly high!

Yeah. I was thinking the same thing. While I don't make it a habit to randomly ask folks to link their gear, I will on occasion if someone mentions it, or if it's got an intersting name that I don't recognize (of course, I don't inspect people ever, so this'll only happen if someone mentions it themselves). It's kinda rude to tell someone their gear is crap, even if it is. So yeah, someone links something, you go "Oh. Nice!...".


Course, that doesn't explain what he was doing in the zone either, but who cares? Not everyone who's played to level 60 in todays game has been to every low level zone. Not really surprising to see someone high level in a low level zone who has no clue what mobs are in the zone.

Sorry but if I ran into a lv31 withh that breast plate I would tell them it was crap and take them shopping for at least a journeymans breast plate you can get those for like 200pp and you can get 200pp in a few hours in BB farming Goblins
