I am in search of Trent Wood. The gent in Freeport says he has some and will trade for 2 Gold and one "nifty Fadark Champion Tunic". Where can I find, make or get a "Nifty Fadark Champion Tunic". This quest has change Quest info say to give him a small lantern. That does not work any more.

Thanks

Isn't Faydark Champion armor the stuff you get in Firona Vie from handing in Drolvarg canines?

You'll have to hit the "new" FV outpost area in the north part of the zone since evils took over the actual outpost. There should be a guard there who gives you armor for tooth hand-ins. Drolvargs can be found in Firona Vie (weaker) or Dreadlands (tougher).

<smirk> To get Trent Wood you need to spank Jyle Windshot in the Hogcaller's Inn in West Freeport, put a gimp hood on him and thrust a Small Lantern into his trade window. Then he will hand you the https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=6181

The tunic the fake one wants is the newbie tunic that wood elf rangers and half elf rangers who start in Kelethin get when they turn in their note. You still get a treant wood shard or whatever it's called and it does work in the Trueshot combine, as I have done it already, so it does not matter which Jyle you get it from as they both work, most people just don't have their newbie tunic any longer by the time they get to the Trueshot quest.

One question, though. Trueshot is hopelessly outdated. You can easily buy much better bow in bazaar these days for cheap. The fletching trivial on these is 235, so you will have to do the quest repeatedly as you will fail A LOT if your fletching skill is not very high. RUnning around to sister isle for kiola nuts and waiting for those darn sprockets or whatever to drop from the mechanical spiders in Steamfont will fry your last nerve, and then to have the final combine fail over and over again will push you over the edge. Do you really need the aggravation?

Aggrovating?...very!! Outdated?...Probably..but this is one of those type of quests where its kind of like a status thing. Making you first decent bow as a Ranger of Tunare is supposed to be a challenge or this game would be called "Easyquest". And not to mention the amount of skill ups you get while doing this quest is considerable compared to buying a bow from the bazaar. how much did your tracking skill go up while trying to find the trader in the bazaar? or how much xp did you earn while "dealing" with your banker for the funds for your purchase?
Also, as you stated before, there is a fair amount of runnin around to this quest, but thats part of the fun of it, too!! Exploreing different lands is what a ranger does anyway.
As far as the trivial goes, unless you are VERY unlucky then a 235 trivial might be scary...personally it took me 7 trys to make, but i bought extra of everything and had enough components for several combines..i got mine at 182 and my second one at 184(which i did sell to some rich twink ;)!!)
I still belive this is a good quest for a new ranger to undertake, especially if you are new to the game.
Anyway , thats my 2 cp's worth.
