Tradeskill freebies - and afterwards?Follow

When I read today's updates on the main page, I realised I had completely forgotten about the tradeskill freebies that had come with the GoD expansion and by which you can get your skills to 54 for free... I recently bought GoD, and certainly I will do those quests.

Now for the question: are there other tradeskill freebie quests (maybe from other expansions) for even higher skills?

I'm not greedy, just looking for the cheapest way to get my skills up...

Not that I'm aware of. Once you hit 54 with the freebies in Abysmal Sea, it'll cost you plat and time.

Not freebie quests like the Abysmal Sea ones. However each new expansion has new recipes for many of the trades which may or may not prove to be methods for skilling up.

I have been using the DoN cultural armor recipes to get some skillups past 200. Some LDoN armor is also good for skilling up.

You will find skillups come VERY SLOW (definately by design) after 180 so it would be very doubtful if there were ever to be higher level 'freebies'.

The freebies seem like a good idea in theory but they are not really worth doing.

you have to do like 400 combines to get to 54 because they wont let you get to the next trivial till youve done a certain number of combines. I usually get frustrated at about 34 then quit.

Lets say for example you are doing smithing, after 50 you need things for subcombines that have lower trivials that you will have to make anyway. Like metal bits, you might as well skill up on these because you will need to make them later anyway and they are very cheap to make and your skill goes up very quickly in the begining.

400 combines to get to 54, but you also unlock recipes to make some of the GoD stuff. Make sure you complete the quest though, if you stop when you hit 54, you dont get the 'secret'.
