I am a ranger on Stormm. The other day a kind chanter handed me some potions I tried to drink them and can not whats the problem?

Is there any way to turn off the auto eat and drink?

At lvl 34 I have been looting tastey adult beverages off of some mobs and cannot consume them Why not?

you do not auto drink alchohol. You have to place it in an open inventory slot and right click on it to drink.

What are the names of the potions? Some potions like Quintessence of Knowledge are regents for a spell and are not drinkable.

It has to be a first level inventory slot to use a potion, not in a bag.If you put the potions in the potion belt, you can use them from there, even if they are really in a bag.

Also some potions are 5 or 10 dose, may not look like you used them when in fact you have, and the dosage goes down each time.

Food and drink (non-alcoholic) will be consumed automatically from a bag. To force eat and drink regular food to save stat food/drink, it also has to be in a prime inventory slot, not a bag. Same with an alcoholic beverage to right click it uses it.

Some elixers have level requirements. I often run into this problem when some nice group memeber hands me a healing potion and doh...its too high for me to drink yet.

Just to clarify...

To force consumption of something, be it food, beverage (alcohol or not), or potion, the item must be in an inventory slot and NOT in a container. Exeption being if you have placed a 'potion belt enabled' item in your potion belt. Then you can 'use' it via the belt and not have to dig into containers to get it.

Some potions have level requirements as stated.

The food or non-alcoholic beverage in the top slots of the top left container will be consumed first when your character needs them.

Alcoholic beverages must be forced, you will not consume these automagically.
