They can make it so a mob cant hit you, they can make no drop items dropable, they will tell you when mobs are going to spawn etc etc.
3rd party items cant make nodrop items droppable. they've been able to circumvent the flag in the past - especially in the shared bank. With the last patch, anyone who had used a third party program to transfer a nodrop item since dodh launch was banned.
3rd party programs can't tell you when mobs are going to spawn. they can give you tracking/zonewide targetting.. but that's not the same thing.
3rd party programs can make it so you can't get aggro. they can also make it so you can bow mobs without them being able to attack you. (you don't get xp for this.) There have been ways in the past to cast or melee on mobs using them - I'm pretty sure these have been fixed.
3rd party programs can't tell you what a mob is going to drop, unless it has a visible graphic - and even then, it only tells you what the graphic is.
Many things -can- be done by 3rd party programs, with complicated, non-publicly distributed hacks. Many of these things sony has also been cracking down on lately. It's like saying in a pro-gun control ad that you can kill thousands of people an hour with a single gun. Sure, it's true, but most people don't have mounted machine guns, and in most cases people won't be lined up right next to each other.
I will say one thing: every guild actively progressing post-qvic has at least one person using mq, whether the guild leadership condones it or not. Many guilds have members of their leadership using it - especially guilds who did earth rings previously. (mq is the only way to tell in earth if the lootdropping rings are up vs the nonlootdropping rings)
