What is the visually most attractive placeFollow

I always love running from the port in point in Dranik's Scar down the Valley towards the Noble's Causeway zoneline. And strange (or old school) as it may sound, when I was a newbie running around Blackburrow several years ago, the first time I ran out of the tunnel leading to Everfrost and saw the veiw down that first canyon is something that I'll always remember.

can't believe no one's mentioned neriak....what an awesome city zone...so dank, so many many places to explore in it.

I've only visited it a couple of times wandering around (never attacked anything), but I like Plane of Growth. It just seems like a peaceful place to me. Better have a way out though, no exit, hehe.

The MPG ramp is gorgeous. I have always thought that the entrance to the whole was one of the best area's. TOV is gorgeous as well.

I think the old Twilight Sea was the most beautiful zone of its time.

OOT and TD are both beautiful but I also have to give a nod to the Oasis of Marr which nobody seems to have mentioned. You get the beautiful sunsets (or sunrises or moonrises), the sound of waves crashing and a safe place to appreciate both while recovering from battle.

Likewise, I really enjoy Katta Castellum - it reminds me of New Orleans (beautiful old buildings, built for night) while Sanctus Seru always reminds me of Salt Lake City (orderly design, religious overtones). I am surprised nobody has mentioned Shar Vahl at a beautiful zone. The whole Turkish theme with cat people just seems to work. This next to Shadeweaver's Thicket which has the sky that the Twilight sea once had. I still can't fathom why they changed Twilight Sea so...

I like Barindu, and Ferubi, Ruined City of Dranik is nice, Love Stillmoon Temple and Thundercrest! Undershore and Stoneroot Falls are cool to.
As for PoP and older content.. HoH, PoTactics(it's kinda scary.. Huge..)
I love the atmosphere in Lower Guk. I doubt many people would agree though, lol. Easy to get lost until you get used to it in there.

And when I first saw the waterfall in Nedaria.. wow.

Also I really like the Trees in the current PoMischief.

I have always loved the dungeon zones. My favorite are Befallen and Crystal Caverns. I have spent so much time in Befallen with my characters when they were low lvl I love the place. Many details that people don't notice such as the chains and crumbled walls you need to crawl over.

My other favorite, Crystal Caverns is jsut so interesting with some many distict areas. Different types of caves with a different type of mob in each and a city on the bottom. Again I bring all my characters there to lvl when they get to that point.

Well those are my favorite visually.

My favorite has always been the island and beach on Erud's Crossing. No one ever goes there either. It's my vacation spot.

I also love the whole waterfall area in Nedaria's Landing.

Firiona Vie before the takeover was one of the best looking zones. Citadel of Anguish before you enter the castle looks fantastic. And to those knocking DoDH graphics, take a look on a fast computer with mid-higher end graphics card with hw vertex 2.0 on and high quality textures, makes a world of difference especially on npc character models. Also look at DoN dragons with it on and you'll be absolutely amazed at what you miss having a computer like mine that can't quite handle that in raid circumstances. Broodlands with the new water on is quite nice too.

The Western part of Dreadlands (where the Nexus Spires are) has always seemed a great area visually, what with the red and yellow leaves on the trees surrounding the Combine outpost with its little squat pyramids.

The mountain paths on the east part of East Karana, the ones leading to Highpass, wowed me as a newbie a long long time ago. They just seemed so impossibly tall.

I think out of the original cities, Ak'Anon was the best one visually. There were just so many details, from the ticking mechanisms to the wandering clockworks to the presence of an actual NPC king you could go see.

Greater Faydark, what with Kelethin in the middle, was damn impressive as a newb.

I liked the visual motif of NRo LDoNs. The whole sand castle thing just appeals to me.

I think a lot of what visually struck you has to do with what are some of the first things you saw playing the game. Being a newb, I would be really impressed with certain zones visually, now, I just go "that's nice" and don't pay much attention.

I absolutely love sunsets in Oasis of Marr and on top of the stone bridge in North Karana; Halls of Honor, Plane of Justice trial room, Reef of Coirnav, Eryslai, Kindgom of Wind, Plane of Torment for PoP; Shar Vahl, Grimling Forest, Hollowshade Moore and Sanctus Seru (sorry, haven't been to Katta) for Luclin, and everything from Kunark are all great treats to the eyes.

My favorite dungeon atmosphere was ToV, running through caverns, up and down hills going down unknown tunnels to find a new dragon slumbering.

I really enjoyed SSRA temple, the old nektulos forest (minus the fugly sky), I liked the old planes Sky, Fear, Hate before maps were introduced - the circle boarder of Fear made it quite confusing!

all n all I like LoY and before, pop I didn't like that they did away with Druid / Wizard porting, cutting back on needing to run through many zones - i never had a wiz / druid but felt the game was turning into a babysat version. give everyoen 200 sense heading. newbies now get a charm which was as good as end game items back in the day.

I wouldn't mind armor that was 'smart' so you could go to a zone and yoru armor would revamp to make that zone more dangerous, skill over brawn.

My favorites:

Nerriak (Third gate)
Dreadspire Keep
The Time Machine (not sure if it was part of PoI or PoTime, but I'll never forget that visual)
Harbinger's Spire
All of Kunark

Last, but certainly not least, the greatest thing I've ever seen appear on my screen...click me... it changed the game forever for me.

Hands down best lookin over all zone in the game imo is veeshan's peak. Thats how a game with dragons should look with the piles of gold and gems on the floors, pictures of veeshan marking norrath. It may not have all the fancy graphics of some of the other zones but when i started eq thats the type of place i pictured i'd be playing in.

Actually, Neriak is a great looking place but there is a reason I did not mention it.

1999. Pentium II. Necromancer.

Having to zone 6 times from Nektulous Forest to the Guild Master and back every level on my first character was frustrating beyond explanation. I stopped looking at the zone and just dreaded having to go back in.

We might need a new thread for this but one of the worst looking zones has to be the new Nektulous Forest. Forests that act like walls that you can't enter? It is like the old "3D" games like Eye of the Beholder that let you walk N S E and W on a defined grid.

I have a few...I think Stillmoon Temple is pretty cool, I also love going to Plane of Water--like swimming in a fish tank :)
Never been to Katta yet but will have to go now and check that out :)

Grab a levitate and a port to Dreadlands. Then head to KC. You can float all the way to the zone from the end of the tunnel. At night it is a very beautiful trip. First star to the right and straight on till morning!
