I don't see what the problem is here. I pay by both CC and game card as well, depending on which is most convenient on renewal day. You say you have a CC and have used it to pay for EQ in the past, so why not just pay for one subscription, create your guild, and then cancel auto-renewal?? Be sure to create your guild first, though,as if you renew then cancel your account will be reset to cancelled status again and you still won't be able to create the guild. The Customer Service guy most definitely gave you the nudge, nudge, wink, wink as to how to get around company policy. I don't see what the big deal is. Just do your next renewal with a CC then cancel after your guild has been created.

Oh, and the reason why they don't let game card users create guilds is that a lot of people who use game cards to try out the game then leave. I remember a while back after a patch they said they were deleting old guilds with fewer than 10 paying accounts left on them. They don't want a bunch of temporary users coming into the game, creating guilds, then abandoning them. I have characters in several abandoned guilds but none of them are officers and none of my other guildies are ever around anymore so I can't recruit new members to get the numbers up or do any guild related stuff unless I join another guild. They want to be sure that new guilds are going to be around long enough to serve their intended purpose, which is to get their members into content that they couldn't do solo or in smaller groups.
