I am thinking of purchasing a gaming laptop. I generally play eq 2 boxing. Anyone know of anything that would be able to handle that for under 2k?

you'd need to get the best vidioe card that is in that particular line's setup as well as much ram as you can cram into it. Alienware sells some ok laptops for gaming. Most laptops if not all are not really supported by eq though so you muight have a rough time getting it to work. Just make sure you have a video card from ati, nvidia, or intel and not S3 or trident. Most higher level laptops($1500+) come with decent videocard specs.

I have a toshiba M55-S325...runs EQ great.

Even my Dell C600 ran EQ. The trick is to turn off as many options as you can and use the pre luclin models.

Try to get at least 1GB ram if possible.

I'm playing on a IBM T42 business class machine that has ATI graphics and only 32 megs of video ram. It has 2 gigs of ram and it 2gig processor. It plays EQ more than acceptably. I run at medium graphics setting with all new models turned on. It does zone slow but other than that plays great. I really think the 2 gigs of system RAM helps a lot and if it had 64 or 128 video ram I could probably play at high video settings.
