Are defensive skillups bugged again? My skill has been stuck at 188 for the past 4 levels. I am 63 now with an agility of 160ish. Not great, but should be enough for an occasional skillup shouldn't it? Let me know of any suggestions to help with this. Thanks.

Defense is capped at differentl levels dependant on class. As you omitted to mention your class I can't help you further.

Ive see this before too. Even though you're not technically at the cap for your level you stop getting skillups or at the very least start getting them very slowly. They've always caught up for me after leveling a few more times.

I think that by 63 all classes should be able to break 200 but it also depends on how often you get hit too mellee classes like warriors will max defense quickly while casters will need to be in the action getting whopmed on to gain skillups

Oops. I meant to mention that I was a bard and do take a fair amount of hits. At 63 my defense caps out at 252 (I believe). But I truely have not had a denfensive skillup in so long it hurts :)

btw: I have also tried buffing agility to cap without any help.

some times there is a soft cap on certain skills but usually you gain like 1 point per level or something like that

Expanding on the OP's question, do any mobs stick out in your mind as being decent to skill up defense, say for a 50's or 60's toon?

I was thinking maybe raptors in Timorous Deep since they seem to hit pretty quickly but pretty softly by today's standards. Maybe those are too low for 60's to get skillups though.

in the low 60's you could go to GE or natimbi most of the mobs there don't hit for 300+ and can be found easily

CT is a good place to work up defencive skills even after the revamp Oozes' are DB to my 65 SK and its rare to see a hit over 300. Old World and Kunrak mobs would be best for letting mobs pound on you for a bit for skill ups, mobs seem to have no or little agro reaction to heals over time and the new higher AC items take a beating.
