No, not fighting another PC, but you can by fighting someone's pet.

Umm subnote on that. You do not skill up swinging anything, unless the mob is at least Light Blue to you. Swinging at greenies will only give your tune Carpal Tunnel.

My advice, choose which one you want to specialize in and use only that kind of weapon. My druid used the Pine Druid Scimitar into his 40s because his epic is 1 HS. Other advice, choose some weapon with a low delay, even if it hits light. The number of swings affects your chance of skill up, not how hard it hits.

You should probably work on all skills as you can, if you happen to get a new weapon that's 1HB, is your skill high enough to make it useful? Best way is to find a low delay wep, get some haste or hast potions and swing away when you are in a group :)

You can also duel a pet (at least LB) and get skill ups that way.

Find a high level Mage with pet hold that will help you and swing away at his Air Pet. I belive the Air Pet has the fastest regen of any of the pets when pet is low on health back off in a min the pet will be back at full health.

if ye can't find someone with a pet, get someone who can snare the mob. lure an at least LB mob into a quiet corner w/o adds. get the mob down until it turns to run, and hack away. resnare if needed.

If you get your skill up on a pet, you don't have to be in arena, right? The /duel command is enough, isn't it?

correct, but you can't be in a non aggro zone like PoK, the bazaar, GL/GH..etc..so in a newb zone or a city zone will work great.

I would caution against dueling in newbie areas too close to NPC guards. They might take exception to one of you.
