MMO SurveyFollow

#1 Dec 06 2005 at 3:00 PM Rating: Default
Please participate in a survey about people who participate in MMOs. This survey will only be used for the purposes of a class related to how people participate in online activities. By participating in this survey you will allow us to get a better picture of how people interact in game other than our experience and the stereotypes our class mates think of.

Who is 'us'?

Is 'us' really 'them'? I don't want 'them' to know what I do.

Why do you care how people interact in game?

It is pretty much like you meet people on the street, except instead of asking directions to the post office, you ask how to go kill somebody.

If you want to know how people interact in game, shell out $30 + $15 per month like the rest of us. Just a warning, /ooc is severely biased to the inane side.

Please check with one of the other 54,535,673,483 surveys already taken. Thank you.

Or just assume we are anti-social, repressed, mistreated, suicidal, misunderstood teenage loners with nothing else going on in our lives except an MMO (what, what comes after the O for online, something, I am sure of it, but since I have the IQ of a kiwi, I can't think of it).

But don't tell them anything please, they are after us.

3. MMO are not a negative influence, they do not interfere in my work, social or home life.
4. I feel no reason to hurt people because i play MMO (Nor does anyone else)
5. My job does not suffer because of MMO (nor does anyone elses)
6. My sex life does not suffer because of MMO (nor does anyone elses)
7. My family does not suffer because of MMO (nor does anyone elses)
8. My friends do not suffer because of MMO (nor does anyone elses)
9. My children do not suffer because of MMO (nor does anyone elses)
10. no doubt you will find the 0.000000001% that do suffer from the above or fudge you stats with leading question to base your inconclusive study on so go ahead and make us out to be the spawn of Satan, quite frankly we don't care.

I am just trying to get info for a class. If you don't want to take it, then don't. I didn't create the servey to **** anyone off, but rather to have a servey created by another MMO player for the class (thats the "us") to draw data from. If you don't like it, don't take it.

No thank you.
You can now use the negative responses to form a new opinion of your fellow gamers.
If you do indeed play online games. (Besides the one that goes "Of course I am really a girl. I am 18, have shoulder length hair and a 36c cup. I really think dark elves and barbarians are hot.)

Oh but I should say posting from work does cost my company some pennies, on the other hand it makes me happier and therefore more productive.

Just adding more flames to the fire.

By asking people on the Allakhazam Everquest Message Board to take a survey about MMOGs, you are not getting a true sample of MMOG players.

You are only getting a sample of people who read the Allakhazam Everquest Message Board.

The majority og MMOG gamers do not read and post on message boards and alot of people who post here probably stopped playing MMOGs and/or Everquest and come here for nostaligia while bored at work.

at least this one is better put together then the "take this test, its fun!' one we got given :-D

but as said before:
- some of us dont play anymore
- 1000000 of other surveys identical to this one have been taken (can no one come up with a new exiting list of questions? Why you all rehash what has been asked millions of times before?)
- YOu posting this one websites of other games too?
- what is exactly the purpose of your survey? who will see the data? who commisioned it?

I suggest you go and find data already collected and come up with a new set of questions no one has asked before.

goodluck

1. Learn to spell 'survey'.

2. Send a letter to the regents/school board of your school demanding that the instructor in charge of this class develop another assignment. Seems for the past 6 years he has been giving out the same one.

3. Before developing any survey instrument, scour the literature on said subject. If you see 1200 articles using the same questions in their study, chances are your survey will do little to further the science.

Studying the moral/social deficiancy of gamers (on-line or otherwise) might sound sexy but it is tantamount to scholastic *************

I actually considered taking the survey. But then the survey told me I could only take it if the survey could put a cookie on my machine.
