Two tasks given by M.C.Tinkerton in PoK, one for high levels and one for lower ones (finally, SOE got it!!!). Smiley: yippee

Lower level task is to kill 10 goblin scouts and a goblin scout master (new mobs) in the Great Divide, reward is a bauble with some stats (STR+5, WIS +5 and some others I think) for range slot, recommended level 15. Goblin scouts are found in the eastern part of the great divide (at least I didn't find them anywhere else) and are green to lvl 40.

Higher level task is to kill 10 mistletoe giants and a named mistletoe giant (new mobs), don't know what reward you get upon completing this task. Mistletoe giants are wandering the whole zone (and there are lots of them!), are red to lvl 40 and green or blue to lvl 70. They hit for 500ish, are social with the goblin scouts and heal them. One got me from the back while my pet was on a goblin... Smiley: mad

If you got more infos, please post them...

The Mistletoe Guards don't hit for 500ish. I spent several hours in GD trying to finish the 2nd tier quest as a lvl 60sk and was never hit for more then 150 by them. Now the Mistletoe Elders are another story. They are level 61-62 (always yellow to my sk).

To find the Mistletoe encampment go to the river. Near the center of the zone are the shardwurm caves. From the center of that draw a horizontal line across your map and head west to around the vicinity of -4600, -1000. There will probably be a lot of player characters here.

They camp on the side of a mountain. Higher level mobs are generally higher up -- imp scouts, guards, elders, storms then Old Frostbeard himself. Named can spawn at any point of their tier (ex. the named scout can spawn from any scout spawning point but not from a Guard spawning point).

I didn't mess with the elders or storms but I did watch a mage and cleric duo Frostbeard. He was hitting pretty hard (mage pet tanking and needed constant healing), summoned, and rampaged.

The Mistletoe Guards come in 3 flavors: melee, cleric and wizard. Clerics always carry a huge club in one hand and will CH themselves when low on health. Melee and wizards are armed with swords and sometimes a 20% haste shield. All are social and beta-kos. They are stunnable and snareable.

Was wondering why there were 50 toons all level 70 in the Great Divide...

Had a train on me in Velks and made a beeline to the zoneline.

Yeah, you're right... The mistletoe giants that are roaming the zone are Elders, and it was an Elder who killed me... didn't know that there were different kinds of them!

Elder bashed warder for 150
hit me for 530
hit me for 540
LOADING, PLEASE WAIT...

We did the tier 2 and tier 3 missions last night. It was pretty fun. Started on the tier 2 mission with just a couple of us, but had a full group gathered together by the time we got to the next one.

The goblins for tier 2 were being camped pretty hard, but with our handy-dandy ranger we found our ten without too much waiting around. The goblins were a piece of cake, green, lb, db mobs, to us in the low 60's.

We seemed to be the only ones doing the tier 3 mission, the Elders indeed have a flurry attack - it's a stomp and looked pretty cool - lands for 500-600pts damage. The final named Elder (don't remember his name)was even conned to my 64 Wiz and seemed only a tidge tougher than the others. I don't believe it summoned, at least it never summoned me.

Note for casters, cold nukes were worthless (duh) but I was having difficulty with magic nukes as well. Dispell seemed to help (don't dispell mobs while the Ranger is kiting - oops).

The third tier bauble you get is a decent item AC10, 50hp/mana, some strength and dex I think and 9 on most resists iir - range only. Oh and a clicky green fireworks effect. (reminds me of Ooblech)

Good time! Smiley: grin

Edited to add we weren't high enough to get the tier 4 mission. Not sure but must be level 70 only.

Yeah, it was fun. Of course, I had to stand by and watch while 20 bored people in the zone killed my frost giant comrads. Don't worry, all you invaders who want to steal the giants' rightful land and oppose Rallos Zek will get yours!

Some of us from the guild would have continued onto Tier 4 last night, but it turns out Aude Sapere has no level 69 or 70's in the guild so we couldn't get Tinkerton to give us the quest. Smiley: frown

Kakar at 67 seems the most likely candidate to be pushed to 70 for this quest if we really wanted to, but I was thinking maybe some of our forum's level 70 toons on Povar could help your Autistic Sharpies get the quest. Smiley: grin Smiley: cool Smiley: wink
