Sol Ro TowerFollow

#1 Dec 13 2005 at 11:11 AM Rating: Decent
Someone has mentioned that all the mobs there Summon and is this true?

I popped into the zone just to see what it looked like and stayed next to zone in.

Great graphics at least in the large courtyard.

Can courtyard be kited? Do all creatures there summon? outside and inside? Hard for me believe they all do.

I will also read about the zone.

Thanks

There's not really an "outside" to Tower of Sol Ro but they all summon in my experience. The protectors and sentries in the courtyard definately do.

Sorry, meant courtyard. Any suggestions as to what type of group would do well there and can the courtyard at least be kited or is this a melee type situation.

Thanks

No, as Joph said the mobs in the courtyard summon. So that would make kiting pretty much impossible.

Mobs hit pretty hard, up to 500+ and fast as with most PoP zones. At minimum, you'd need a decent tank, slower, healer, and at least 1 dps. I'm sure uber players duo there all the time, but for us average folks I wouldn't go there with less than 4 people.

My 65 bard was summoned and beaten like the proverbial mule the one time I tried to kite. Our groups have always been traditional tank-cleric-DPS groups though our lvl 62 tank did fine with bard slows.

Also immune to run speed changes so kiting is not an option.

Everything summons. I can deal with one or two before I have burned all my AA tricks and mana.

A group of 65s will have a fine time there. Compared to WoS, this stuff hits like girls.

Note: Need a pulling/CCing plan.. there are a lot of doubles (and if you are careless triples).

At 65, Cachet (ENC) was Pacifying and usually got mushed on resists.. pulped before she could mez: against a 65 Enchanter, Mez and Slow are 50/50 (at best) without Tash first.

Now, we coast there on slow night and bring young Giftees to wow them with the scenery, proof that 5 levels really help spells to land more.

Just a recommendation for pulling and pacifying. Get an extended range item for pac. The mobs aggro range is just slightly longer than the range on pacify.

A buffed mage pet can tank in there but it's rough to do so without a slower. If you're a necro looking for some quick/easy xp or the chance for ornate drops, there's better loot and xp elsewhere.

Yep, it is possible to take a level 60-65 group to Sol Ro if you have the right classes and it's a guild-only group. Having said that, having Raheli around makes or breaks a Sol Ro group. I think our 60-65 groups would get smashed if Raheli isn't around to work her bard magic... err songs hehe.

I agree.

It's also important to note that sometime our 60 - 65 groups GET smahed with Raheli works her bard magic.
