No sense turning /tgb off at all.
So I can't turn it off just becasuse that's what I like to do?
I have, in the past, meant to rebuff my own group, but accidentally had someone in the other group targetted. It /tgb is off, it would still hit my group, if I were to leave it on, it would hit theirs, and I would have to cast again..using more mana and stalling things even more.
I said three post up from yours that you DON'T HAVE TO TURN IT OFF. I just prefer to.
GFY with your holier than thou, this is how I raid so everone else must raid the same way crap.
Except my understanding of Group v1 spells (the ones that can be MGB'd) is that you have to target yourself or someone in your group for them to work anyway, right? I may very well be wrong about that, since I haven't played around with it in awhile. However, Group v2 spells are "always my group" and don't have to be targetted. That's the point. My memory says that things like group heals can be cast even if you have an NPC targetted, and they automatically hit your own group. Group "buffs" require that you target someone in the group to be buffed. Normally, that's restricted to your group only unless you have the /tgb turned on.
At least that's my memory. Could be wrong. May have been changed.
Either way. While you certainly *can* do it your way, I don't think it's the most efficient way to do it. Which is faster? Targetting someone in your group to cast on your group (like hitting tab to target yourself say), or dorking around with toggling /tgb on and off and having to remember to turn it back on to buff another group? IMHO, it's just easier to turn /tgb on once and just leave it on. Target someone in a group to buff that group. Since the spells you *need* to cast on your group while targetting something else (like group heals and evacs) are all group v2 and only hit your own group anyway, needing to target yourself to hit your group with a group buff really isn't that much of a hardship.
YMMV, but I'm personally of the opinion that there's no real value to not having /tgb on. In fact, you're the first person I've *ever* run into who actuallly turns it on and off. Everyone I know, once they learn about it, turn it on and never turn it off.
