Havent played since about 2001, but since I got the thing from Sony for the 21 days free I thought I would try it out again.
I have a half elf paladin on Kunark, but it seems Firiona Vie has been taken over by Dark Elves that dont like me. So I couldnt take the boat if I wanted to/could? Then again I've heard that the boats dont exist in game anymore? How do I get off of this island?
Also I played on the Rallos Zek server, I'm guessing that all the pvp servers were merged to form the current Zek server? What are the rules? Who can fight who and when? Also what loot can you get if any?

Zek Rules:No Looting,PvP point system,kill anyone within 4 lvl's of you,it's FFA so make some friends
To get off the island,use return home I think it pops in the char select screen after like 12 hours of being logged.Otherwise I dunno
You use the PoK book to get off Firiona Vie. It should be marked in your map, don't know the exact loc. By clicking the book you will enter Plane of Knowledge, from where you can travel nearly everywhere all over Norrath (and Luclin, and The Planes).

Hmm, after reading up on this, do I need the Planes of Power expansion to use said book?

You don't need Planes of Power expansion. PoK was made free for everyone (and is now the center of life for most players in EQ). Two banks there, shops for nearly every tradeskill, Bazaar, Guildhall... People are grouping there, are selling there, are buffing there... PoK is the actual center of EverQuest.
