Had my first incounter with a shadowhunter last nite in WOS. had a good group and, I was the baby, Everyone in group was low 60's a 58 Wizzy and me 53 Pal I gain arrgo a couple of times chain stunning the dragoons but for the most part things went well. about half way through the evening we wiped when a pet arggoed three adds just over the hill helping his master that had been snared the tank ran to the edge and was squashed in a flash couple fd leaving me and the wizzy he didnt get off a spell then me. Please wait.....
After that half the group left and we picked up some new help they were nice enough to let me stick around. not sure lv but they must have been a little higher cause thing went very fast.
we were dispatching the latest pull.
Then POW.. the tank the off tank and the monk dead me the bstie and the cleric FD WTF this is one of those memorable moments that I will regail to noobs for the rest of my days in EQ
Anyone ever kick this guys butt. And what did it take

although I haven't killed him myself recently, I watched a friend solo him the other day, heh.
I don't know what the "lightest" group to take him would be but I have seen him taken with 6-8 70's with decent gear. Think it takes high resists too.
Solo?!?!??! Really! Please link this person's Magelo. Not meaning to sound doubtful but......I'm doubtful!
I'm sure he can be soloed. He's not a tough mob for a properly geared group.
I wouldn't doubt that someone in full Anquish gear could solo him.

Ok, I'm willing to rethink my opinion. The 1300AAs pump his resists high enough that he wouldnt need Bard or some other resist bump.
Of course, this Shaman could probably solo the group the OP indicated got wiped by SH too :).

a BL guildy and i duoed him. we would of won, but for some unknown reason he despawned at 40%.
we had been talking about trying, so couple weeks ago we went and tried. was going great, then poof, he was gone, no idea what happend.
one of the keys to winning this fight is Lev, and also the need to remember to stand after the proc that makes you FD. other than that, he isn't that bad. just have to have your MA get up and regain aggro fast.
we will go soon and have a rematch ;-)
before we pulled him, we stood out in the middle of the zone and took on all comers, was a blast 5-6 at once. he is a monster tho, max aa, and i am not too shabby myself.

even without resist aas, it's pretty easy to bump resists in to the 350+ range, which has you resisting half his stuns, and a good number of the other aoe too.

He really isn't that hard. When I first saw him I figured he was a raid mob. He walks around like he owns the place. But when we finally did kill him he was a pushover. Not near as bad as what he appears to be. I think he just catches a lot of people by suprise.

Easily duo'd last week with by a bard/cleric while waiting for our raid to form..
He was soloed by a Mage on Stromm a week ago.
BFD that Shadowhunter can be solo'ed..
For a group in the upper 50's/low 60's WoS itself is a challange and SH is just instant group wipe.. I well remember tanking there for the 1st time in my mid to upper 60's and zone wide messages would be posted warning when SH was up.. It really added to the fun and sense of danger.. Roaming mobs that require 2+ groups of players ( that SHOULD be hunting in that zone) is fun...
To answer the questio of the poster.. For a group of level 58-63 it would take a raid sized force ( 4+ groups).. Level 65-70 2 solid groups.. WoS is made for level 65-70 (IMHO)..

Well I read an implied hint as to how many would it take at the level of his group.. I.E. uper 50's to low 60'w....
I just want personal revenge someday and knowing they can be soloed lets me know that the revenge can be sweet. I can be kinda of vengeful I still kill that guy in EC that drops the 10 slot tool kit. He was the first blue mob That ever killed me.

Both sides have their random spawn dangers... On one side you have Shadowhunter, on the other is Discordling Warfiend. I remember when I was a little pup, and had to be careful pulling around them. However now i group less and less in WoS, it's fun to get /tells asking to come tank him for a group cause he's killed their group 2-3 times already. I'm still a small tank myself, but he has become somewhat easy, compared to what I remember. Same with the Warfiend... have triod with with a cleric and shammy!
With Vt level gear and infusion Shadow is easy for 1 70s group so I'm sure an anguish bst or shm could solo or duo him easily.

Down with 9 Yesterday and dropped the shield. If your On xegony look up Raekwon. You can have the shield.
