i read it somewhere, not sure if it was in that article, or if it was on evequest forums it's self but there are some old world revamps coming (look at DoN DoDH, where in each expansion one old world zone got revamped.)

well we won't really know till closer to launch, probably a new race or class or soemthing along those lines, i mean more MM's to get nerfed would be pretty gay. but we'll have to wait and see.

I just finally bought the last expansion a week ago. I don't see myself buying this one. About the only thing that grabs my eye is the extra bank slots, not enough to get me to cough up $30.

Im so ticked about how dirty they was with DOD that I doubt I will get this one. Sounds like a bunch of boreing dungeon zones with lvl 70 KOS mobs that hit for insane damage and will eat any group without raid geared armor etc.

I am sure the first week of launch there will be some way to make easy money, or some way for easy exp. Then after people buy it up they will nerf the crap out of it like with DOD.

This can only be blamed on players and not SOE.

Hehe, after mortgage, utilities, 2 kids, wife, credit cards, doctor, hospital, dentist, etc, etc, etc, $30 gets to be a big deal, especially times 4.

That is sad. It's hard to see someone you care about play an inferior game.

I will probably buy it just for the pre-nerf advantage, got 50 or so AA's in my casual "dirty" playing style before the nerf of DoDH. Still love getting on for 30 minutes and being able to advance my toon, even though the same orc mission is boring as hell. But I am better off when I do get to play my shammy for all the AA's I've received.

like fronglo said most of the content will be for lvl 70 raiders.
obiously you can keep playing in the old content but the xp is crazy in dodh compared to say luclin, its hard to go back to grinding in griegs end after getting so much xp for one monster mission.

I sound venemous because I am a casual player and it seems like that this is what the game has become for us.

Like I said this is the players fault not SOE's. If you don't like MMs don't do them. There is plenty of other stuff to do even for a casual player.

Get a group of friends or guildies and explore and fight in some new or old zones. Try a DoN mission none of you have done before. There's other MMs that can be fun, like the Naggy raid. You could shroud down and join some lower toons in various zones. So what if the XP isn't as good, this is about having fun. What's the point of getting good xp if you're just going to do the Fairy/Orc MM again when you ding or get a 1000 aas?

It is not Players fault the game has gone the way it has. It wasn't the players who made a access system such as planar power that even now alot of people can't get through. I mean really almost all of your high end raid zones take a tremidious amount of effort from a guild to get through. Casual players just can not do this alot of times. Also players are not the ones who designed a ton of expansions catered to raiders only just about. I think if they would realease another expansion for ALL levels then maybe people would be more likely to make alts again? But for the heavy raiders why should they play alts when they are eatting through brand new expansions getting loot that makes them nearly godlike in any non raid zones, etc. It wasn't the players who designed mobs that a tank can't tank unless they have either high end raid gear and/or hundreds of AA's. I can't count how many times a DON mission has went sour because the lvl 70 tank couldn't tank the mobs.

I would love to go to old world zones and fight again, but you can't hardly get anybody to go with you. Half the time they don't know where these places are. And unless your a super duper twink and/or a decent solo class taht is hard to do.

If I had a powerful mac computer I would really think about eq mac. It stops at Planes of Power and its actually cheaper per month.

It was the players who only did creator don missions. It's also the players only doing one or two MMs because they're the easiest and fastest. SOE created dozens of MMs and DoN missions which can be done by casual players (saying otherwise is BS because I've seen casual players do them; tanks, healers, etc). Is it SOE's fault that everyone ******* about including casual encounters (GoD was a terrible expansion for non-raiders), and when they do (DoN and DoD both include a good amount of content for casual players) the players still ***** about it?

Like I said try something else instead of creator or the fairy/orc mms. There's lots of fun to be had in those other missions. So stop ******** and crying about casual content when the casual players aren't even using what's available now.

Cry me a river! Don't ***** at me if you can't have sense enough to keep $120 to afford a few entertainment items. That's not my fault.

If you can't afford it don't buy it, I dont' need to hear about your situation, nor do I care. pbbbbt.

Nicely said. I've maintaned that belief that SoE as heavily catered EQ to the casual player of late. It's our fault that it isn't used to it's potential, not SoE's.

Is SOE copying WoW then by catering to the casual gamer?

In my brief experience with WoW, I got the impression that it was more "friendly" to the casual player but I only played it a week and then deleted it off my hard drive.

Maybe SOE is trying to attract the causal players. Afterall WoW has about 4x more subscribers now then EQ does...

Unfortunately, this is what everyone else is doing. I don't really enjoy MM's. They're boring, repetitive and take away from the time I've put into levelling, gearing and learning my characters by having me play a lvl 30 fairy or goblin or orc instead with three hotkeys. There's zero risk involved which, to me, translates to zero interest other than seeing how quickly you can grind out the next one for more experience. Sitting at the windmill in LoIO was more exciting since at least you cared when a Sarnak gave you a dirt nap.

But, as I said, everyone is doing them and little else. And I can't even blame them. Not in the least. There's simply no quicker way to advance for a casual player and perhaps even for some more dedicated players. Suggesting we do this zone or that zone is like suggesting we ride a horse from Chicago to New York because I think airflight ruins the feel of travel. Maybe I think it'll be fun but everyone else will (rightfully) look at me as if I'm insane.

So, yeah... "Just don't do them". About as practical a suggestion as those who say "Hey, just don't use PoK!" and ignore the fact that no group in the game is going to wait for you to run from Freeport to Greig's just because you don't like PoK.

Off topic from the Prophecy of Ro discussion but, ironicly, SOE's big hand-out to the casual players is doing more to disinterest me in Everquest than anything else they've done.
