hello everyone,

im new to eq, well may as well be its been 2 years since i played last. after eqoa for those 2 years, i decided to build a new pc and get back into eq. yeah i coulda went to eq2 but after being gone so long i wanted to get back to basics first.

anyways, can someone give me some advice as to what servers have good low level group numbers, i've been playing on a server(the name escapes me atm) at varied times, and have had zero luck, getting a group after gloomingdeep mines.

any help or advice for a newb would be appreciated.

thanks
D.

Hello,

People seem to level very fast now, but I know that AB seems to be ok, my nobbie of 8 has no trouble finding a group.

Look me up if you want on AB

thanks for the fast responses you too. ill try those servers as soon as my monitor comes in(about a week), the loaner i had went back today.

what classes are rare on those servers, i've been playing a ranger and a mage on eqoa and started a mage on pc and like it, but i dont wanna play a toon that will be useless to the overall picture.

I enjoy the mage class and the dd classes as well. pretty much anything with good solo ability and great group abilities as well. so anything that fits in those areas would be good.

one more thing, sk's were considered tanks in eqoa, and if i remember right dd's in eqpc. is this still true or have they been made more tankish since i been gone?

thanks again guys

SK is a tank class and IMO the best of the 3.

About the only class I would consider as being rare would be the zerker, but they are becoming more popular as people realize what they can do.

If you are looking for a decent solo class that is wanted in groups I would say dru, shammy, bst or bard.

Shadow Knights are tanks, out of the two hybird tanks, Paladin and Shadow Knight, SKs are the more DD oriented.

Mage can solo very well up to about the 50s then it gets a bit harder, but can still deffenetly solo past then. Mages are great DD, they have incredibly strong pets, and nice nukes. Another pure caster soloer would be the Necromancer. Necromancers solo ability doesnt get worse as they get higher up like the mage, in fact imo it increases the higher you get. Necromancers are great DPS except on realy short fights.

You say you like DD and casters, a class that can solo and group well. You may want to check out the Beastlord class. Realy powerful DD and soloer all the way up in levels. They are a monk/shaman hybird, with spells to buff atributes, slow,DoT and heal. They also get a class specific line of HP/atk buffs and HP/Mana regen spells. They get amazing pets and GREAT pet heals to back them up. put all that on top of the ability to slow and they can solo well at any level.

Also a bst can substitute as a tank is some situations if they are well geared. It's rare but it is doable.

hmmm i think ill definatly check out the beastlord class. sounds like they are a substitute healer in a pinch and with my skills being mostly forgotten, im sorta timid about being placed in a role where the group depends on my healing to stay alive. ill definatly try it out when i relearn the basics though.

thanks again everyone
