Ok guys. I just started playing the game. So far Im a lvl 5 Necro dark elf. I have a couple of questions. First I keep hearing that I need to train meditation and other skills. How do I go about doing this? Also is there a website that list noob lvl quests?

Woops forgot another question. How do I get the main task bar to appear on the top of the screen. The one with action and other tabs.

Meditate is best practiced by sitting on your rear end.

Int or Wis are the stats that most affect your getting an improve, whichever is the higher one. Being a necro, you will be most interested down the road in increasing the int.

Most skills have a chance to improve every time you use them. Cast a spell and you can get an improve in channeling and/or whichever type of spell you case (evocation, alteration, divination, etc). You can also spend training points with your guildmaster (usually called GM). You start the game with 5 training points and gain 5 more each time you level. Some GM's can do a better job of training than others. When they can't train you any higher they tell you so. The GM's are mostly in each of the starting cities for races, but there are others out there too, such as in the Plane of Knowledge, which is no one's starting city. Of course with the tutorial, starting cities are more and more a thing of the past, as you hardly need to visit your starting city at all anymore.

Since you are a necro, heed this advice.

In your mid/later levels you'll rely on converting your HP to mana. Since this is the case, your most important stats to look at will be HP/STA/INT.

That being said. It's more important that you learn the game, and perfect your play style before you worry about maxing your stats.

Good luck and Have fun!

Any quest you want to find can be found here on alla's but if your not a premium member your going to have to dig for them.

Once you get a little higher I suggest doing The Magic Pool quest. Easy quest and a great reward.

welcome # Smiley: smile

how to train them skills?

there is only a few skills you can not train at yer guildmaster iirc, e.g.
offense
defense
specialisation
tradeskills

them ye simply have te practice. (there are some ways of improving the skills without fighting mobs, but ye will find out later anyway).

for the other spell related skills: you have 5 main skills, these are
1 - conjuration
1 - alteration
3 - evocation
4 - abjuration
5 - divination

conjuration and alteration are the most important ones fer a necro.

how to practice them, without spending skillpoints(and money) at yer guildmaster?

well, here's what I did when I found myself fizzling way too often and I blushed because others laughed at me:
- buy a fishing pole (or two)
- buy fishing bait
- sit down close to water and start fishing
- in between fishing cast the various spells from them 5 areas above. pick the ones with the lowest mana. i.e. true north fer divination, or minor shielding fer abjuration.
- when oom (out of mana) sit down and just fish
- when FM (full mana) get back up and start casting again.

catchin my drift?

Anyone can make it to Grandmaster in tailoring (and most other tradeskills). It's just really really expensive and/or time consuming.
