Come on Tarv, I won't disagree that SOE has done some good stuff for the game but it's driven purely by profit. I don't think anyone will argue that SOE's CS has declined significantly in the past year.
Of course it's driven by profit, i don't believe you naive so you cannot expect it to be otherwise.

Thats as daft as saying "well Esso sell us fuel for profit."

You're not stupid, you're a good poster and i'm sure a good player so i must have missed something.

If she valued them as much they valued her then she would not have put them into that position, i find it remarkable that ANYONE much less a guildleader would put other people in that sort of position.

She was leaving the guild anyway so the rest could have voted a new leader and carried on with an open invite back. No harm no foul.

It's no flame at Felicite's handling of the GM problem but everyone focus's on the errors, how many MM had Fel done? How Many had the group between them done? How many hundreds of thousands did MM over the double Xp weekend?

Many did with no problems and i doubt any member of her guild had that same bug, so one persons Bug is now a reason for an entire guild to fold?

Selfish, truely and mindbogglingly selfish.

Good points Tarv. SOE is a business and a business' sole purpose for existing is to make a profit. If that means outsourceing CS or consolidating departments and letting people go, then that it what happens. Such is the world we live in. /shrug

The point being here that CS has declined. Do the improvements SOE has made outweigh the lack of customer service? I guess that's a personal decision.

If these people want to continue to play in what was her guild they only need to start a new. Felicite can't ruin this game for them anymore than she could for you or I.

I disagree.

It will be mindbogglingly however if I managed to get all the quote tags in the right place.

CS has never been Good, in fact i doubt a game like EQ could have good CS.

Too many countries, to many people who think that GMs are there solely to solve their problems even though most are just players.

On that we are in complete agreement, that you got it right first time enforces my earlier comments

Yeah CS is not what it was. Understaffed or outsourced but if you are persistent enough or resourceful enough with a bit of general kindness thrown in, you can get what you need fixed done. The amount of time it might take may be overly slow for some but if you think about the numbers of servers and possible petitions and bugs, the fact that they keep up at all is pretty good.

I do have to say it one more time though. Be grateful when help comes and let that CS know you appreciate their help and they might be more willing to do a better job in the future for everyone.

As for Felicite, I'll miss her insight here. Be safe and enjoy your travels.

Two things to add......

1. EQ will miss ya Felicite.

2. As far as this crap for drama, I would have to say Smiley: snore

3. Ok, 3 things to say. Let her go if she wants to go, sheesh!! How does that saying go? If you really love her let her go, if she really loves you, she'll be back. ahh close enough Smiley: smile

Your leaving will be a big loss to the whole EQ community. Your very active participation in the boards was a great help to me and to many others.

Best wishes where ever you go and I hope you do come back.

*smiles* Yes, I get to make my own decisions for me, that's selfish. I am not their Mommy..

I don't do monster missions.. it's was a hard 70 DoN mission that took my group our entire evening of play. But that's not the point, really. It was one too many templated responses from CS.. to me and everyone I know. And we all got screwed. But that's not really the reason, just the straw that broke, frankly. Months of growing disatisfaction, yes. And as you point out, my choice.

Venting, yes, and drunking venting at that. It could of been better handled. But, as I said elsewhere, a few too many times a week I found myself in all caps laced with profanities chatting with long time friends, and that told me I was wrapped too tight.

The Gift was formed so three friends could have a Tag, and later a Hall, when they played. We have left. Damn.. and I just spent a million on that 40% Fire Damage Robe that I wore for like 4 nights. Oh well.

You are right, though, a simple "Farewell" would of been better.. but.. I kinda imploded. EQ is a great game, I hope you all play it until the lights go out (I always assumed I would).

P.S. Thanks, Frakkor.. you are the bestest.

P.P.S. Side bets on coming back?

P.P.P.S. No, you can't have my stuff (couldn't log in anyway)

If you do come back, make sure you create a new thread:

Subject: Player Returning, questions about CS...

Best of luck.

There are many a straw on my EQ Camel's back but she is still holding up for now...

I really have only had one major issue with CS.

Son screws up big and does a major turn in wrong.

Dad comes home and hits the ceiling.

/petition for mercy for kids error.

2 days later, all is fixed and is right with the world.

I have no complaints. They did great by me. I know that your milage may vary.

Consider yourself lucky that your straws are only from SOE CS.

I have only had a few issues with which i had to deal with CS. the most notable was my Bazaar mule when they changed the layour of the bazaar.

Could not log in mule.

CS moved Mule(dark elf, lvl 3, guards in freeport area do not like her) to, you guessed it, East Commonlands, near the guards.

NP, run away, stuck, cannot move still, loading please wait, loading please wait, loading please wait, loading please wait, /ex

Somehow my bind was reset there also, lol.

load main to train guards away to try to move trader.

Got trader loaded and played with her a bit and figured you cannot move in EC with 8 trader bags, 35k pp and a str of 85.

loading please wait(guards got back) /ex

/petition CS again, why did you put me where i was KOS and bind me there?

Yes, we eventually got it resolved, but they are not very good, and as i work in CS, i have a low tolerance for poor customer service.

If/When i leave EQ, they will, just like Felicite, be the reason i left.

I have read many of your posts and found you to be insightful, and a nice kind person willing to help.

We will miss you.

SOE CS is never gonna meet your expectations, so if after the initial shock you don't get over it, expect to be constantly disappointed in game.

Really if you were getting that upset then you are making the right decision. It is entertainment you are paying for afterall, and yeah it's a hobby you need to work at, but if it is costing you emotionally then it's just a bad idea.

To adress the original point, I'm always astounded that the problem at sony is on one hand so obvious but so unfixed. It's not even that the responses for GMs are canned or CS is bad per se. It's that they are totally powerless/unresponsive about any kind of development problem. Any kind of fault in design, any kind of mission bug or reward or flaw that has any kind of coding at all, GMs won't help with. A player fault is fine- missing item, problem player, anything like that works just peachy. But if a zone crashes on a raid I lead, if some script doesn't work right, if anything goes wrong that has the least bit to do with coding or intent of an encounter, I immediately know CS won't be able to help at all and there's no point in talking to them. There doesn't seem to be any good reason for it either, just a total lack of internal communication between the game design team and the customer support staff.
